''Night Train'' (''Le train de nuit'') is a 1947 painting by Belgian artist Paul Delvaux, famous for his paintings of female nudes. The painting is 153 x 210 centimetres and is now in the Museum of Modern Art, Toyama, Museum of Modern Art, in Toyama (city), Toyama, in Japan. Delvaux painted this artwork at a time when he felt trapped in a loveless marriage. He wished "to paint boredom, sadness and the desire to get away from it all... There is this nostalgic aspect about waiting rooms where people pass by briefly before leaving... I tried to capture the beauty of the waiting room in an empty station. Plot summary This book is told from the perspective of Detective Mike Hoolihan, a female detective who is charged with the task of finding the motivation for Jennifer Rockwell's suicide (she shot herself in the head three times, supposedly). Jennifer, a beautiful astrophysicist with a seemingly perfect life, seems to have had no reason to kill herself. Thematically, the book touches on cosmology and chaos theory, and their relation to the human condition as a possible motive for suicide. Hoolihan is a recovering alcoholic and former homicide detective who lives with an obese man named Tobe in an unnamed American city. ''Arc of a Diver'' is the second solo studio album by singer/multi-instrumentalist Steve Winwood. Released in 1980, Winwood played all of the instruments on the album. "Nightrain" (pronounced "Night Train") is a song by the American rock band Guns N' Roses. The song is a tribute to an infamous brand of cheap Californian fortified wine, Night Train Express, which was extremely popular with the band during their early days because of its low price and high alcohol content. The title is spelled differently, omitting a T and removing the space, making a portmanteau of the two words. "Nightrain" is the third song on the band's debut studio album, ''Appetite for Destruction'' (1987), and was released as the album's fifth and final single, reaching number 93 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart. "Night Train" is the sixth single by the British synth-pop group Visage (band), Visage, released by Polydor Records in June 1982. Background The song was the second single from the band's album ''The Anvil (album), The Anvil''. It was remixed for the single release with the assistance of John Luongo, and also available as a limited edition picture disc. The B-side of the single is a non-album track, "I'm Still Searching".
