Nigel Pierre
Nigel Pierre (born 6 February 1979 in Saint Joseph) is a football striker from Trinidad and Tobago, who manages Westside Superstarz. Career "Pistol" Pierre as he was once known due to his fearsome shooting ability had a 3-month loan spell at Bristol Rovers F.C. in England in the 1999–2000 season but, after impressing, the move was unable to go through due to work permit problems. Former San Juan Jabloteh boss Terry Fenwick again tried to take him to England to play for Northampton Town F.C. but once again Pierre was denied as he had only played 73% of Trinidad and Tobago's matches and not the required minimum of 75%. He played for Caledonia AIA, having been sacked from both his previous clubs. International career He got 58 caps and scored 22 goals for the national team between 1999 and 2005. Saint Joseph, Trinidad And Tobago
St. Joseph was founded in 1592 by Antonio de Berrio and is the oldest town in Trinidad and Tobago. Originally named San José de Oruña, it served as the capital of Spanish Trinidad between 1592 and 1783. In 1595 the place was attacked and held by Sir Walter Raleigh and was used as a base for his exploration of the Orinoco river in search of the fabled city of El Dorado. United Petrotrin Football Club was a football club from Trinidad and Tobago and a former member of the TT Pro League of Trinidad. It was dissolved in 2009. History Formed in 1980, ''Trintoc'' entered the Point Fortin Football League that same year and immediately won the League title and then entered the fourth division of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation, which they also won in their first year. By the end of the decade Trintoc had won every title in local soccer (league champions in 1986 and 1988) and even became Caribbean champions in 1988 when they beat Seba United F.C. of Jamaica in the final. During this period another oil-based team, ''Trintopec'', also rose to prominence and in 1992, the T&T government decided to merge both companies, Trintoc and Trintopec to form Petrotrin.
