''Nice Baby and the Angel'' is a 1973 album by American singer-songwriter David Blue. It was released by Asylum Records and produced by Graham Nash. The album was Blue's second release on Asylum Records. History ''Nice Baby and the Angel'' was recorded in collaboration with Dave Mason, David Lindley, and Glenn Frey. The album features backing vocals from Nash and Jennifer Warnes on the track "Lady O' Lady". The album is a departure from Blue's folk style with more country, singer-songwriter oriented tracks. The album was released in mid-1973, to a lukewarm response. It did not chart, neither did one of the singles released: "True to You/Dancing Girl", " Outlaw Man/Troubadour Song", however did manage to reach #94 on the BILLBOARD Hot 100. David Blue (musician)
David Blue (born Stuart David Cohen; February 18, 1941 – December 2, 1982) was an American folk music singer-songwriter and actor. Early life and education The son of a Jewish father and Irish Roman Catholic/French Canadian descent mother, David Blue quit high school at age 17, left home, and joined the Navy, but was soon thrown out for his "Inability to adjust to a military way of life." Career Blue became an integral part of the Greenwich Village folk music scene in New York City, which included Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs, Dave Van Ronk, Tom Paxton, Bob Neuwirth, and Eric Andersen. Blue is best known for writing the song " Outlaw Man" for the Eagles, which was included on their 1973 '' Desperado'' album. Blue's original version of "Outlaw Man" was the lead track of his own ''Nice Baby and the Angel'' album, re-issued on CD, with the entire David Blue catalogue, in 2007 on Wounded Bird Records. "Outlaw Man" is a song written by David Blue and recorded by the American rock band Eagles. The song was chosen by the Eagles for their second album, '' Desperado,'' as the song fits the theme of a Western outlaw gang of the album. America are a British-based American rock music, rock band formed in London in 1970 by Dewey Bunnell, Dan Peek and Gerry Beckley. Don Felder
Donald William Felder (born September 21, 1947) is an American musician who was the lead guitarist of the rock band Eagles from 1974 to 2001. He is known for co-writing several of the band's songs, most notably "Hotel California". Felder was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 with the Eagles, and was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2016. ''Desperado'' is the second studio album by the American Rock music, rock band the Eagles (band), Eagles, released on April 17, 1973, by Asylum Records. The album was produced by Glyn Johns and was recorded at Island Studios in London, England. The songs on ''Desperado'' are based on the themes of the Old West. The band members are featured on the album's cover dressed like an outlaw gang; ''Desperado'' remains the only Eagles album where the band members appear on the front cover. Jennifer Warnes
Jennifer Jean Warnes (born March 3, 1947) is an American singer and songwriter who has performed as a vocalist on a number of film soundtracks. She has won two Grammy Awards, in 1983 for the Joe Cocker duet " Up Where We Belong", and in 1987 for the Bill Medley duet "(I've Had) The Time of My Life". Warnes also collaborated closely with Leonard Cohen. Early life Warnes was born on March 3, 1947, in Seattle, Washington, but raised in Anaheim, California. Her desire and ability to sing came early; at age seven she was offered her first recording contract, which her father declined. Glenn Frey
Glenn Lewis Frey (; November 6, 1948 – January 18, 2016) was an American musician. He was a founding member of the rock band Eagles, for whom he was the co-lead singer and frontman, roles he came to share with fellow member Don Henley, with whom he wrote most of Eagles' material.
