News UK Broadcasting Limited, trading as News Broadcasting (formerly Wireless Group Limited and UTV Media plc), is a radio and digital broadcasting network with headquarters in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It currently operates five stations in Ireland and 18 in the United Kingdom. The company was formerly known as UTV Media, owned by UTV Television. Its television broadcasting services were sold to ITV plc in February 2016 and its radio, sales services and websites were spun off into a new company, Wireless, later purchased by News Corp. In June 2016, Rupert Murdoch's News Corp reached an agreement to buy the company. The sale was completed in September 2016. The Radio Partnership was a media company which operated radio stations in the UK. About Initially, the Metro Radio Group which owned TFM Radio, TFM, Metro FM and Great North Radio, bought Viking FM, Hallam FM, Pennine FM (later rebranded as The Pulse of West Yorkshire, The Pulse) and Classic Gold (later rebranded Great Yorkshire Radio, then Great Yorkshire Gold) was acquired by EMAP, East Midland Allied Press in 1996. Kelvin Calder MacKenzie (born 22 October 1946) is an English News media, media executive and a former newspaper editor. He became editor of ''The Sun (United Kingdom), The Sun'' in 1981, by which time the publication had been established as Britain's largest-print circulation, circulation newspaper. Sunrise Radio Group Limited was a UK radio broadcaster (chairman Avtar Lit), and ran Sunrise Radio. The company also used to own London Media Company Limited. In January 2014, Sunrise Radio Limited, owners of Sunrise Radio 1, Sunrise Radio 3, Time 107.5 and Tristar 96.6, fell into administration, and were acquired for an estimated £2m on 4 February 2014. Sound Digital is a semi-national commercial digital radio multiplex in the United Kingdom, owned by Arqiva, Bauer Media Group and News Broadcasting. The multiplex covers 73% of the population from a total of 45 transmitters. ''Ireland Live'' was an Irish television news and current affairs service produced by UTV Ireland. ''Ireland Live'' featured national, international and regional news, including extended reports, interviews and sports coverage during its flagship hour-long programme at 10pm on weeknights. Virgin Media One, also called Virgin One, is an Irish free-to-air television channel owned by Virgin Media Ireland (part of Liberty Global), operated through its subsidiary Virgin Media Television.
