Newman And Baddiel
Newman and Baddiel were a comedy partnership of the 1990s consisting of British stand-up comics Robert Newman and David Baddiel. Both graduated from Cambridge University and began working separately as stand-up comedians before they were introduced to one another in 1989 by producer Bill Dare, who wanted to put together a topical sketch show for BBC Radio 1. The new writing duo joined Steve Punt and Hugh Dennis to form the core quartet of ''The Mary Whitehouse Experience'', which later transferred successfully to BBC television and made stars of both pairings. There followed a series for BBC2 called ''Newman and Baddiel in Pieces''. The series was a ratings success, despite coming under criticism from reviewers who considered the comedy to be too deep and perceived a notable absence of camaraderie between the two performers. Three Lions
"Three Lions" is a song by the English comedians David Baddiel and Frank Skinner and the rock band the Lightning Seeds. It was released on 20 May 1996 to mark the England football team's participation in that year's UEFA European Championship, which England was hosting. The music was written by the Lightning Seeds singer Ian Broudie, while Baddiel and Skinner—presenters of the football comedy show '' Fantasy Football League''—provided the lyrics. All three provided vocals. The title comes from the England team emblem. Baddiel And Skinner Unplanned
''Baddiel and Skinner Unplanned'' is a British free-form television talk show hosted by comedians David Baddiel and Frank Skinner and produced by Avalon Television for ITV. It ran from 2000 to 2005. Its concept was developed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe prior to the television series. Alongside the television series, the show had a run in the West End at the Shaftesbury Theatre between 17 April and 12 May 2001 from which a ‘Baddiel and Skinner Unplanned - Live in the West End’ DVD was released. Format The intro to the show begins with a slow pan along an empty street before focussing on actor Lewis Rose who sings the intro before the crowds come in to join with a chant of "It'll never work" and head into the theatre to watch the show. Fantasy Football League
''Fantasy Football League'' is a British television comedy programme hosted by David Baddiel and Frank Skinner. It was inspired by the Fantasy Football phenomenon which started in the early 1990s and followed on from a BBC Radio 5 programme hosted by Dominik Diamond, although the radio and TV versions overlapped by several months. Three series were broadcast from 14 January 1994 to 10 May 1996 (followed by episodes during Euro 96). The show then moved to ITV for live specials on alternate nights throughout the 1998 World Cup and then again through Euro 2004. In May 2022 it was announced that a new series of the show had been commissioned to be broadcast on Sky Max with new hosts Elis James and Matt Lucas. Christopher Graham Collins (born 28 January 1957), professionally known as Frank Skinner, is an English comedian, actor, presenter and writer. At the 2001 British Comedy Awards, he was named Best Comedy Entertainment Personality.
