Newfoundland Regiment (ice Hockey)
The Newfoundland Regiment are a Canadian junior ice hockey team in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League who play at the Mary Brown's Centre in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Background The franchise was granted in 1969–70 as the Rosemont National of Rosemont, Quebec as one of the founding teams of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). In 1971, they moved from Rosemont to Laval to become the Laval National, and later the Laval Voisins in 1979. In 1985, they became the Laval Titan, and in 1994, the Laval Titan Collège Français. In 1998, they moved to Bathurst, New Brunswick, where they became the Acadie–Bathurst Titan. In Bathurst, the Titan won two President's Cups and the 2018 Memorial Cup, while based in the smallest market in the Canadian Hockey League, with a population of 13,424 residents. The Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL; , LHJMQ), formerly the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League is one of the three major junior ice hockey leagues that constitute the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). The league includes teams in Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, and the The Maritimes, Maritime provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island, and previously had teams in Maine and New York (state), New York in the United States. The Royal Newfoundland Regiment (R NFLD R) is a Primary Reserve infantry regiment of the Canadian Army. It is part of the 5th Canadian Division's 37 Canadian Brigade Group. Predecessor units trace their origins to 1795, and since 1949 Royal Newfoundland Regiment has been a unit of the Canadian Army. The Montreal Junior Hockey Club ('' French: Le Club de Hockey Junior de Montréal'') was a junior ice hockey team in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). The team was based out of the Verdun Auditorium, in Verdun, Quebec, Canada. The St. John's Fog Devils franchise relocated at the conclusion of the 2007–08 QMJHL season. The team's colours were maroon and white, similar to the Montreal Maroons. Glenn Stanford (born 1957) is a Canadian ice hockey executive. He is currently serving as the president of the Newfoundland Regiment (ice hockey) in the QMJHL. He has served as governor and chief operating officer of the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League and the Newfoundland Growlers of the ECHL. Stanford is a two-time winner of the James C.
