Jenifer Rajkumar
Jenifer Rajkumar (born September 1, 1982) is an American politician and lawyer. A Democrat, she is a member of the New York State Assembly from the 38th district, representing Queens neighborhoods of Glendale, Ozone Park, Richmond Hill, Ridgewood, and Woodhaven. She is the first Indian American woman ever elected to a New York State Office. Early life and education Rajkumar was born and raised in New York. She is the daughter of immigrants from India who first settled in Queens. As a teenager, she attended Hackley School. Rajkumar earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Juris Doctor from Stanford Law School. The New York State Assembly is the lower house of the New York State Legislature, with the New York State Senate being the upper house. There are 150 seats in the Assembly. Queens is a borough of New York City, coextensive with Queens County, in the U.S. state of New York. Located on Long Island, it is the largest New York City borough by area. Glendale, Queens
Glendale is a neighborhood in the west-central portion of the New York City borough of Queens. It is bounded by Forest Hills to the east, Ridgewood to the west, Woodhaven to the south, and Middle Village to the north. Glendale was built on a swampy area previously called Fresh Pond. The neighborhood was later developed into an industrial area, though it is now a more residential neighborhood. Glendale's land area is long on its east-west axis and narrow on its north-south axis. Ozone Park is a neighborhood in the southwestern section of the New York City borough of Queens, New York, United States. It is next to the Aqueduct Racetrack in South Ozone Park, a popular spot for Thoroughbred racing and home to the Resorts World Casino & Hotel. Traditionally home to a large Italian-American population, Ozone Park has grown to have many residents of Caribbean, Hispanic, and Asian backgrounds. Richmond Hill is a commercial and residential neighborhood located in the southwestern section of the New York City borough of Queens. Ridgewood, Queens
Ridgewood is a neighborhood in the New York City Borough (New York City), borough of Queens. It borders the neighborhoods of Maspeth, Queens, Maspeth, Middle Village, Queens, Middle Village and Glendale, Queens, Glendale, as well as the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Bushwick, Brooklyn, Bushwick and East Williamsburg, Brooklyn, East Williamsburg. Joey De Jesus is an American writer, performer, community activist, and political candidate. Their work includes the poetry collection ''NOCT: The Threshold of Madness'', which was a selection of the 2019 Atlas Review chapbook contest, and the poetry collection ''HOAX'', forthcoming from The Operating System in 2020.
