New Hampshire Governor's Mansion
The New Hampshire Governor's Mansion, known as "Bridges House", is the official residence of the governor of New Hampshire and the governor's family. Bridges House, located at 21 Mountain Road in Concord, the capital of New Hampshire, has served as the governor's official residence since 1969. Built in 1836, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in December 2005, and the New Hampshire State Register of Historic Places in July 2005. Description and history The New Hampshire Governor's Mansion is located in a rural-residential setting about north of downtown Concord, on the west side of Mountain Road (New Hampshire Route 132) north of the East Concord exit from Interstate 93. Margaret Wood Hassan ( ; ; born February 27, 1958) is an American politician and attorney serving as the junior United States senator for New Hampshire since 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, Hassan was the 81st governor of New Hampshire, from 2013 to 2017. Born in Boston, Hassan graduated from Brown University and earned a J.D. from the Northeastern University School of Law. After graduating from law school in 1985, she worked at the law firm Palmer & Dodge. She later worked as associate general counsel for Brigham and Women’s Hospital. North Hampton, New Hampshire
North Hampton is a town in Rockingham County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 4,538 at the 2020 census. While the majority of the town is inland, North Hampton includes a part of New Hampshire's limited Atlantic seacoast. History First settled in 1639, the town was a part of Hampton known as "North Hill" or "North Parish". Residents began petitioning for separation from Hampton as early as 1719, but township was not granted until 1742 by colonial governor Benning Wentworth, following separation of New Hampshire from Massachusetts. Warren Brown (August 11, 1836 – September 19, 1919) was an American politician, historian, gentleman farmer, businessman, and author from Hampton Falls, New Hampshire. Biography Early life Warren Brown was born in Hampton Falls, New Hampshire, the only child of John Berry and Sarah March Leavitt Brown. He was educated in the North School in Hampton Falls, the old Rockingham Academy in Hampton, New Hampshire, Hampton, and Phillips Academy, Phillips-Andover Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. Later life Brown married Sarah Gertrude Norris on January 1, 1867. Sarah was a daughter of Daniel L. Norris and Sophia (Osgood) Norris, of Raymond, NH. She was born in Dover, NH on November 17, 1841. From the age of 10, Sarah was raised by her aunt Lavinia Osgood and uncle, Samuel Meserve in Lowell, Massachusetts, where she received her public-school education.
