Nelson Park, Kent
St. Margaret's at Cliffe is a three-part village situated just off the coast road between Deal, Kent, Deal and Dover in Kent, England. The centre of the village is about ¾ mile (1 km) from the sea, with the residential area of Nelson Park further inland, and St Margaret's Bay situated along and below the cliffs north of South Foreland. The parish church, dedicated to St Margaret of Antioch, is a Grade I listed building. Channel swimmers and submarine telephone cables start from St Margaret's Bay. At the north end of the bay is Leathercote Point (sometimes spelt Leathercoat Point or Lethercote Point), where there is the Dover Patrol Monument war memorial commemorating the Dover Patrol. According to the International Hydrographic Organization, Leathercote Point marks the western end of the line which defines the divide between the North Sea and the English Channel, the opposite end being at the Walde Lighthouse near Calais. Nelson Park, Napier
Nelson Park is a cricket ground in Napier, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. It is situated in Napier South, about 600 metres south-west of the Napier CBD, and about 200 metres north-west of Napier's main sports stadium, McLean Park. Establishment A syndicate reclaimed the Napier South area from the Ahuriri Lagoon and swamp in 1908. In 1909, the town council purchased 20 acres for a park named in honour of a member of the reclamation syndicate, the Hawke's Bay pioneering settler William Nelson. Playing history The ground first held a first-class match when Hawke's Bay played Wellington in 1920, and Hawke's Bay also played a first-class match there in 1921 against the touring Australians. In the 1920s Nelson Park was regarded as one of the best cricket wickets in New Zealand. Senior cricket was next played at Nelson Park nearly 65 years later when Central Districts played Wellington in the 1985–86 Shell Trophy. It has been a regular first-class venue since 2007. Nelson Park Township is a township in Marshall County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 158 at the 2000 census. Nelson Park Township was organized in 1884, and named for James Nelson, a pioneer settler. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 36.2 square miles (93.7 km), of which 36.1 square miles (93.6 km) is land and 0.1 square mile (0.1 km) (0.14%) is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 158 people, 56 households, and 44 families residing in the township. The population density was 4.4 people per square mile (1.7/km). There were 69 housing units at an average density of 1.9/sq mi (0.7/km). The racial makeup of the township was 100.00% White. There were 56 households, out of which 39.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 73.2% were married couples living together, 1.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.4% were non-families. ...
