Neftchiler Avenue
Neftchiler Avenue (; literally Oil Worker's Avenue) is an arterial road in Baku, Azerbaijan. It begins at the west end of the Bayil district of Baku and continues east until terminating at Javanshir Bridge (formerly Gagarin Bridge) intersecting Uzeyir Hajibeyov Street. It is used as part of the Baku City Circuit, including the Start-Finish straight located next to Government House Previous names of Neftchilar Avenue were Alexander II Quay, Gubanov Quay, and Stalin Avenue. The street was named Neftchilar Avenue in 1961 in honour of workers of oil industry in Azerbaijan. The larger section of the avenue runs along Baku Boulevard. The Baku TV Tower (), built in 1996, is a free standing concrete telecommunications tower in Baku, Azerbaijan. With a height of 310 metres (1017 ft or 480 meters from Caspian sea level), it is the second tallest structure in Azerbaijan after the chimneys of Azerbaijan Thermal Power Plant and the tallest reinforced concrete building in Caucasus. Spanning , with its upper section covering , the square prominently displays national symbols of Azerbaijan, including the state coat of arms, anthem, and a bronze map of the country. Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum (, formerly called the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum) is a museum located in Baku that displays Azerbaijani carpets and rugs with historical and modern weaving techniques and materials. It has the largest collection of Azerbaijani carpets in the world. First opened on Neftchiler Avenue in 1967, it moved to a new building on the Baku's seafront park in 2014. The Baku Puppet Theatre (formally Azerbaijan State Puppet Theatre named after Abdulla Shaig, ) is a puppet theatre located on Neftchiler Avenue of Baku. Maiden Tower (Baku)
The Maiden Tower () is a 12th-century monument in the Old City, Baku, Azerbaijan. Along with the Shirvanshahs' Palace, dated to the 15th century, it forms a group of historic monuments listed in 2001 under the UNESCO World Heritage List of Historical Monuments as cultural property, Category III. The International Mugham Center of Azerbaijan is a center of Azerbaijani arts and music aiming to promote, preserve and popularize the mugham genre of Azerbaijani music. Baku Boulevard (, also known as National Park) is a promenade established in 1909 which runs parallel to Baku's seafront. Its history goes back more than 100 years, to a time when Baku oil barons built their mansions along the Caspian Sea, Caspian shore and when the seafront was artificially built up inch by inch. Bayil
Bayil (; also known as Bailov and Bailovo) is a settlement in Baku, Azerbaijan. Geography In March 2000, a major landslide in the Bayil slope destroyed dozens of shops, apartments and gas stations. The slope in later years also experienced few minor landslides which led Baku City Administration to examine the area and make a final decision on razing houses in this territory.
