The title of National Legend of Ukraine is a state award of Ukraine granted to individuals viewed as having made significant contributions to Ukrainian culture, sports, sciences, or society through public activities. It was founded by a presidential decree by Volodymyr Zelenskyy on 14 July 2021, and first awarded on 20 August 2021. The award's establishment was part of broader celebrations of the 30th anniversary of Ukrainian independence that occurred throughout 2021. It was designed by Ukrainian jeweller . Myroslav Skoryk
Myroslav Mykhailovych Skoryk (; 13 July 1938 – 1 June 2020) was a List of Ukrainian composers, Ukrainian composer and teacher. His music is contemporary in style and contains stylistic traits from Ukrainian folk music traditions. Skoryk was awarded the titles People's Artist of Ukraine and Hero of Ukraine. Early life Myroslav Mykhailovych Skoryk was born in Lviv, on 13 July 1938. His parents were both educated in Austria at the University of Vienna, and subsequently became teachers. His father was a historian and an ethnographer, while his mother was a chemist. Although his parents did not have special musical training, his mother played piano and his father played the violin. Skoryk was exposed to music in the household from an early age, and his Aunt#Additional terms, great aunt was the Ukrainian soprano Solomiya Krushelnytska. Anatoliy Solovianenko
Anatoliy Borysovych Solovianenko (; ; 25 September 1932 – 29 July 1999) was a Ukrainian operatic tenor, People's Artist of the USSR (1975), People's Artist of Ukraine, and Shevchenko National Prize winner. He was born into a mining family in Donetsk and graduated from Donetsk Polytechnic Institute in 1954. He also studied singing with Alexander Korobeichenko from 1950. Solovianenko began his career in Donetsk, where there is now a monument in his memory. He made twelve performances at the Metropolitan Opera in Kyiv, then graduated from Kyiv Conservatory in 1978. For 30 years, he was soloist at the Taras Shevchenko National Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kyiv, and performed at Expo 67 in Montreal. During the 1977–78 season, Solovianenko performed as a soloist at the New York Metropolitan Opera. Maria Oksentiyivna Prymachenko (; – 18 August 1997) was a Ukrainians, Ukrainian folk art Painting, painter, who worked in the naïve art style. A self-taught artist, she worked in painting, embroidery and ceramics. In 1966, Prymachenko was awarded the Shevchenko National Prize, Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine.
