Naresh Kumar (CRPF Officer)
Naresh Kumar is an officer in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) of India. On 14 August 2020 he was awarded his seventh police medal for gallantry, the most ever received by a single officer in the force's history. Background Naresh was born to an Army officer in Hoshiyarpur in Punjab. He did his initial schooling from Army Schools and Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools. He completed his B.Tech from Punjabi University, Patiala before clearing the reputed UPSC examination for the post of Assistant Commandant and joined the CRPF in March 2013. Career After completing basic training from CRPF Academy, Gurugram, Naresh joined 79th battalion based in Kashmir. During his initial days of service he went for specialized training on Counter Insurgency and Anti Terrorism to combat critical situations in case of any terrorist attack. Central Reserve Police Force
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is a central armed police force in India under the Ministry of Home Affairs. The CRPF assists states and Union Territories in maintaining law and order and internal security. It is composed of the Central Reserve Police Force ( Regular) and Central Reserve Police Force (Auxiliary). It was established on 27 July 1939 as Crown Representative's Police with the objective of providing security to the British Crown Representatives in India. The force was later renamed as the Central Reserve Police Force by an Act of Parliament in 1949. The CRPF played a major role in the Parliamentary elections of September 1999. National Security Guard
The National Security Guard (NSG) is a central armed police force in India under the Ministry of Home Affairs. It is the primary counter-terrorism force of the Government of India. CRPF Valley QAT
The CRPF Valley Quick Action Team is a Police Tactical Unit, tactical unit of the Central Reserve Police Force, specialized in counter-terrorism in urban areas. It is active in the city of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir (union territory), Jammu and Kashmir. It was raised specifically to counter and eliminate militants in the city of Srinagar. It conducts operations with the Jammu and Kashmir Police. History The Valley QAT was initially created in 2011 to escort and provide security for convoys and VIPs. In 2016, an attack on a Border Security Force, BSF camp near the Srinagar International Airport ended with the team killing all the attackers. The Central Reserve Police Force Academy, located in Kadarpur, Haryana, India, is a training institution of the CRPF. At CRPF Academy, 52 weeks of military training is imparted to the cadets selected by the UPSC after an all-India exam.
