Nanyang is a prefecture-level city in the southwest of Henan province, China. The Nanyang Normal University is an ordinary undergraduate college in Henan Province. It was founded in 1951 in Nanyang Normal School of Henan Province. In 1958, it was upgraded to Nanyang Normal College. In 2000, it was upgraded to Nanyang Normal University. The predecessor of Nanyang Medical College was the Nanyang Health College founded in 1951. In 2004, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be upgraded to Nanyang Medical College.
