Nansang District () is a district in central Shan State, Myanmar. It was split from Loilen District and Langkho District on 30 April 2022. It contains three townships. Its district seat is Nansang. Nansang
Nansang or Namsang (), officially Nan San () is the capital of Nansang District of Shan State in eastern Myanmar. It is the seat of Nansang Township. It is the most populous settlement of the eastern central area of Shan State, with 26,060 people in 2019. Most residents live in Ward 4, the northwest part of the town. It is 72 miles away from Taunggyi. A pagoda lies in the southern part of the town. It is also known as Taung Paw Pagoda. Loilen District ( also romanised as Loilem District) is a district in central Shan State, Myanmar. In 2010, it consisted of 9 towns and 7 townships. In 2022, most of its townships were split off to form new districts, leaving it with only three townships. Its capital is Loilem. Nansang Township
Nansang or Namsang Township () is a Townships of Myanmar, township of Nansang District in the Shan State of Myanmar. The principal town is Nansang. The township has two towns with 11 urban wards in total between them as well as 20 village tracts grouping 196 villages. To prevent confusion with Namhsan Township in northern Shan State, it is sometimes disambiguated as Nan San (South) Township. On April 30, 2022, new districts were expanded across the country. Nansang Township was separated from Loilem District and together with two other townships formed the new Nansang District. The townships is relatively diverse, with the Shan people making up the largest plurality at only 39.89% of the population in 2019, followed by Bamar and Pa-O people at 15.3% and 12.15% respectively. Kholam Subtownship
Kholam (, ) is a town in Nansang Township in south-central Shan State, Myanmar. It is divided into 6 urban wards and had a population of 12,246 people in 2019. The town is located 30 miles northeast of the township capital of Nansang along National Highway 4. Kholam is the principal town of Kholam subtownship, a statistical subdivision of Nansang Township. According to the 2015 census, the subtownship 24,659 people. Economy The town is home to the Eastern Central Command Regional Military Command headquarters The Myanmar Army and local farmers within the town have had land disputes that have been described as continuous seizures of land for the purpose of expanding the military command.
