Nama People
Nama (in older sources also called Namaqua) are an African ethnic group of South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. They traditionally speak the Nama language of the Khoe-Kwadi language family, although many Nama also speak Afrikaans. The Nama People (or Nama-Khoe people) are the largest group of the Khoikhoi people, most of whom have disappeared as a group, except for the Namas. Many of the Nama clans live in Central Namibia and the other smaller groups live in Namaqualand, which today straddles the Namibian border with South Africa. History For thousands of years, the Khoisan peoples of South Africa and southern Namibia maintained a nomadic life, the Khoikhoi as pastoralists and the San people as hunter-gatherers. Namas Chandra
Namas Chandra (born April 17, 1952) is the retired Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Director, Center for Injury Bio-mechanics, Materials, and Medicine at New Jersey Institute of Technology. He was Elmer-Koch Professorship of Engineering and Associate Dean for research and Graduate Studies at the College of Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). He was the director of the Trauma Mechanics Research Initiative and the BioMechanics and Materials Laboratory at UNL. He was also the Director of $5.8 M UNL-Army Center for Trauma Mechanics. From 1986 to 2006, he was at Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Florida State University. He finished his MS from University of Houston in 1983 and PhD from Texas A&M University in 1986. In 2005, he won FSU's 'Outstanding Researcher' award. Bistra (german: Bistrau; hu, Bisztra) is a commune located in Alba County, Transylvania, Romania. It has a population of 5,066. ''Namaste'' (, Devanagari: नमस्ते), sometimes called ''namaskar'' and ''namaskaram'', is a customary Hindu non-contact manner of respectfully greeting and honouring a person or group, used at any time of day. It is found on the Indian subcontinent, and among the Nepalese and Indian diaspora. ''Namaste'' is usually spoken with a slight bow and hands pressed together, palms touching and fingers pointing upwards, thumbs close to the chest. According to Vaishnavas, Vishnu aka Krishna, the Supreme Lord (सर्वोत्तम), has many names. 24 of these names of the Lord are present in a group called ‘Chaturvimsati Namas’. The Chaturvimshati Vyuhas symbolise 24 forms of Lord Vishnu that personify and embody 24 elements of the phenomenal world. Etymology Kesava Namas refers to the 24 names of Lord Vishnu, the first of which is Kesava. They are often referred to as Chaturvimsati Rupas. (चतुर्विंशति नाम).
