NWA Special Supercards
NWA Special Supercards are professional wrestling supercard events promoted by the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA). Unlike the NWA's live pay-per-view (PPV) events, these events are primarily taped for future programming. Beginning in 2019, the NWA would promote Pop-Up Events in-conjunction with various independent professional wrestling promotions. NWA President William Patrick Corgan explained the concept as "being able to work, show up anywhere in the world that appreciates moments", and partnering with local promotions. The inaugural event, New Years Clash, was held on January 5, 2019, and co-produced with Crimson's Tried-N-True Pro Wrestling in Clarksville, Tennessee. Matches from the event would later air as part of the NWA's web series, ''Ten Pounds of Gold''. Since 2022, the NWA has also hosted PowerrrTrip events. Billy Corgan
William Patrick Corgan Jr. (born March 17, 1967) is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, and professional wrestling promoter. He is best known as the co-founder, lead guitarist, primary songwriter, singer, and only constant member of alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins. Corgan is credited with helping popularize the alternative rock genre. He has also been the owner and promoter of the National Wrestling Alliance since 2017. Corgan formed the Smashing Pumpkins in Chicago in 1988 alongside guitarist James Iha, with bassist D'arcy Wretzky and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin joining soon after. Strong album sales and large-scale tours propelled the band to commercial success and critical acclaim throughout the 1990s. He was known for his tenure with various National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) member promotions. The Knoxville Convention Center is a 500,000-square-foot convention center in Knoxville, Tennessee, Knoxville, Tennessee, occupying the former location of the US Pavilion of the 1982 World's Fair. NWA PowerrrTrip 2, part of the NWA Pop-Up Event series and second in the PowerrrTrip chronology, was a professional wrestling supercard produced by the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) in conjunction with Tried-N-True Pro Wrestling. The event took place on April 30, at the Valor Hall in Oak Grove, Kentucky. The event was a taping for ''NWA Power'' and ''NWA USA'' on FITE TV and YouTube.
