NHK Arena
NHC Arena, formerly NHK Arena, E.ON Arena, Sydkraft Arena and Timrå Isstadion, is an indoor sporting arena located in Timrå, Västernorrland County, Sweden. Construction began in 1964 and was inaugurated on 4 September 1966. Since then the venue has undergone several renovations and expansions. It is home arena of the SHL ice hockey team Timrå IK. Current capacity is 6 000. History The current building was constructed in 2003 on the grounds of, and re-using the roof from the old Timrå Isstadion. This predecessor dates back to 1966 and was inaugurated September 4, the same year, as the eighth ice hockey venue in Sweden. The old arena underwent a heavy refresh for the 1994/1995 season, resulting in a capacity of 5,500. When Timrå IK was promoted to the Swedish Hockey League in year 2000, the old Timrå Isstadion was timeworn and didn't met the requirement for a modern ice hockey venue so a second major reconstruction was made prior to season 2003/2004, resulting in today' ... Swedish Ice Hockey Association
The Swedish Ice Hockey Association ( sv, Svenska Ishockeyförbundet (SIF)) in Swedish, is an association of Swedish ice hockey clubs. It was established in Stockholm on 17 November 1922 by representatives from seven clubs. Before then, organized ice hockey in Sweden had been administered by the Swedish Football Association. In 1920, Sweden became a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). In addition to ice hockey, SIF is also responsible for inline hockey. The association's general secretary is Tommy Boustedt. Leagues and levels The Swedish Ice Hockey Association is involved in all levels of ice hockey in Sweden. Lennart Svedberg
Jan Lennart "Lill-Strimma" Svedberg (29 February 1944 – 29 July 1972) was a Swedish ice hockey defenceman. He played for Timrå IK and Brynäs IF. He also played on the Swedish national team during six IIHF World Championships and the 1968 Winter Olympics. Svedberg was named best defenceman at the 1970 World Championships. Rögle BK (Rögle Bandyklubb) is a Swedish professional ice hockey club from Ängelholm that has been playing in the SHL since the 2015–16 season. Rögle has previously played in the SHL (previously named Elitserien) in 1992–1996, 2008–2010, and briefly in 2012–13. Brynäs IF is a Swedish ice hockey team from Gävle. The club currently plays in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), the top tier of ice hockey in Sweden. The club has played in the top-tier league since 1960, longer than any other team. History Brynäs IF was formed by Nils Norin, Ferdinand Blomkvist, and Thure Ternström on 12 May 1912 and began to play ice hockey in 1939. Timrå Municipality (''Timrå kommun'') is a municipality in Västernorrland County, Sweden. The town of Timrå is the municipal seat.
