Myron and Sonya Glassberg Family Conservation Area is a protected area in northwestern Jefferson County, Missouri. It is south of Eureka and southeast of Pacific. The Glassberg Family Conservation Area is located within the watershed of the Meramec River, primarily in the watershed of LaBarque Creek. The Young Conservation Area is about to the east and LaBarque Creek Conservation Area is about to the southwest. Jefferson County is located in the eastern portion of the state of Missouri. It is a part of the St. Louis Metropolitan Area. The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) and the Missouri Conservation Commission were created by Article IV Sections 40-42 of the Missouri Constitution, which were adopted by the voters of the state in 1936 as Amendment 4 to the constitution. Pacific (formerly Franklin) is a city in the U.S. state of Missouri in eastern Franklin County and extending to the east into southwest St. Louis County. The population was 7,002 at the 2010 census. Young Conservation Area, formerly named Hilda Young Conservation Area, consisting of , is located in the north central portion of Jefferson County, Missouri. Geography The property is about west of County Highway W along Highway FF between LaBarque Creek and John McKeever Road. History The area was acquired through a donation and purchase by the Missouri Department of Conservation in 1986. Features The area is about 93 percent forested with oak, maple, hickory, and other native species. White-tailed deer, wild turkeys, and squirrels are abundant. LaBarque Creek, glades, tree plantations, and open fields provide diverse wildlife habitat. The plantations on the area include a Austrian pine grove and a black walnut grove. LaBarque Creek Conservation Area (LCCA) consists of in northwestern Jefferson County, Missouri. It is south of Pacific and southwest of Eureka. The LCCA is part of the Henry Shaw Ozark Corridor. The Young Conservation Area is about to the east, Myron and Sonya Glassberg Family Conservation Area is to the northeast, Pacific Palisades Conservation Area is to the north, Catawissa Conservation Area is northwest, and Robertsville State Park is west.
