It is a London borough council, and one of the 32 in the United Kingdom capital of London. The council meets at Lambeth Town Hall in Brixton. Lambeth () is a London borough in South London, England, which forms part of Inner London. Its name was recorded in 1062 as ''Lambehitha'' ("landing place for lambs") and in 1255 as ''Lambeth''. Myatt's Fields South Estate
Myatt's Fields South is a social housing estate located between Brixton Road and Camberwell New Road in South London. It is on land that once formed part of the Lambeth Wick estate. Myatt's Fields North and South estates were built between 1970 and 1984 with 470 homes on the North and 324 on the South. In recent years it has been the subject of a dispute between residents and Lambeth Council, who have tried to replace the boiler system that serves Myatt's Field South, and Myatt's Field North estate, which has since been redeveloped as Oval Quarter. History The area to the West of Myatt's Fields Park suffered considerable bomb damage during the Second World War, with the area of Mostyn road being extensively damaged and a V2 rocket levelling buildings on Lothian Road where it meets Calais Street. Myatt's Fields Park
Myatt's Fields Park is a 14-acre Victorian park in Camberwell in the London Borough of Lambeth in South London, England, 2.9 miles south-east of Charing Cross. History The majority of the area of Myatt's Fields belonged to the estate of Sir Hughes Minet, who in 1770 bought 118 acres of land from Sir Edward Knatchbull on the border of Camberwell and Lambeth. Minet was a third generation descendant of Isaac Minet, a French Huguenot refugee who had fled France following the 1685 Revocation of the Edict of Nantes. The names of some of the streets around the park, such as Calais Street and Cormont Road, refer to Minet's French connection. In 1889, Hughes Minet's descendant William Minet gave 14½ acres of land then in the parish of Camberwell to the London County Council to be used for a public park. Vassall ward is an administrative division of the London Borough of Lambeth, United Kingdom. It is also known as 'Myatt's Field' when informally describing the area. It is located in the North of borough bordering Southwark, in the SW9 and SE5 postcode area. The area is named after Henry Vassall-Fox, 3rd Baron Holland who was responsible for the first building development in the area in the 1820s. 2022 London Local Elections
The 2022 London local elections took place on 5 May 2022, as part of the 2022 United Kingdom local elections. All London borough councillor seats were up for election. Mayoral elections took place in Hackney, Lewisham, Newham and Tower Hamlets, with Croydon electing a mayor for the first time following a local referendum in October 2021. The election saw Labour gain majority control of Barnet, Wandsworth and Westminster councils whilst the Conservatives gained majority control of Harrow Council and the Aspire Party gained control of Tower Hamlets Council, both from Labour. Labour also lost Croydon Council to no overall control. The 2022 Lambeth London Borough Council election is due to take place on 5 May 2022. All 63 members of Lambeth London Borough Council will be elected.
