Myanmar Military Junta
The State Administration Council (; abbreviated SAC or နစက) is the military junta currently governing Myanmar, established by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Min Aung Hlaing following the February 2021 coup d'état and the declaration of a state of emergency by the National Defence and Security Council. Under the constitution, the Commander-in-Chief holds absolute legislative, executive, and judicial power during a state of emergency. Min Aung Hlaing has delegated his legislative power to the SAC, which he chairs. It has formed a provisional administration, also led by Min Aung Hlaing as Prime Minister of Myanmar. The Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) has designated the SAC as a "terrorist group", and SAC's legitimacy is contested by the competing National Unity Government of Myanmar (NUG). State Seal Of Myanmar
The State Seal of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar () is the national emblem used in all official government documents, including publications. Saw Daniel (, b. 25 November 1957) is a Burmese politician of Kayah descent and former vice-chairman of the Kayah State Democratic Party (KySDP). National Democratic Force
The National Democratic Force (NDF) is a political party in Myanmar (Burma). It was founded by former members of the National League for Democracy (NLD) who disagreed with the party leadership's decision to boycott the 2010 general election. History The National Democratic Force (NDF) was founded in June 2010 by Khin Maung Swe, Than Nyein, Thein Nyunt, and Win Naing, all of whom were prominent members of the NLD. They formed the party after the NLD executive committee refused to register with the Union Election Commission (UEC) and announced the NLD's intention to boycott the 2010 general election. Khin Maung Swe
Khin Maung Swe () is a Burmese politician and former member of Myanmar's State Administration Council, from 2021 to 2023. He is the chairman of the National Democratic Force (NDF). Early life and education Khin Maung Swe was born on 20 July 1942 in Ngathaingchaung, Pathein District. He graduated in 1966 with a degree in geology. From 1966 to 1988, he worked as a geologist at the Myanmar Petroleum Corporation. Career He served as secretary of the Petroleum Workers' Union during the 8888 Uprising. At the invitation of Aung San Suu Kyi, he became a member of the National League for Democracy (NLD) in October 1988. In July 1989, he became a member of the executive committee. In the 1990 elections, he was elected as the Pyithu Hluttaw MP for Constituency of Sanchaung Township but was not allowed to assume his seat. Thein Nyunt (politician)
Thein Nyunt (; born 26 December 1944 or 20 November 1944) is a Burmese lawyer, columnist, and politician. He served on Myanmar's State Administration Council from 2021 to 2023. A former member of the National League for Democracy (NLD), he founded the New National Democracy Party and co-founded the National Democratic Force (NDF) after splitting from the NLD. Thein Nyunt served as an MP for the Pyithu Hluttaw, representing Thingangyun Township, from 2011 to 2016. Political career Thein Nyunt won a parliamentary seat in the 1990 Myanmar general election, representing Thingangyun Township in Yangon. Thein Nyunt served as a member of the National League for Democracy's Central Executive Committee. Kayin People's Party
The Kayin People's Party (; ; Abbreviation, abbreviated KPP) is a political party in Myanmar (Burma). It was formed by retired Kayin government officers to contest the 2010 Myanmar general election, 2010 general elections. It is based in Yangon where many Karen people are living. It fielded 41 candidates in the 2010 Myanmar general election, 2010 general elections, winning six seats. It did not run in the 2012 Myanmar by-elections, 2012 by-elections. Mahn Nyein Maung
P'doh Mahn Nyein Maung (, born 1947) is a Karen politician and former rebel leader. He is currently serving as a member of Myanmar's State Administration Council. Mahn Nyein Maung was born between 1947 and 1949. Career 1960s–2020: Activism After the 1962 Burmese coup d'état, Mahn Nyein Maung became involved in underground political activism. He was arrested in July 1967 and imprisoned in the Coco Islands. He escaped in 1970. He was recaptured and imprisoned until April 1973, under a general amnesty. During his time in jail, he became acquainted with Mahn Aung Kyi, the secretary of the All Burma Karen Organization, who would become his political mentor. In 2000, he published a memoir entitled ''Against the Storm, Across the Sea'', describing his prison break from Coco Islands in the 1970s, a feat that earned him the nickname "Burma's Papillon."
