''MyHouse.wad'' (known also as ''MyHouse.pk3'', or simply ''MyHouse'') is a Doom modding, map for ''Doom II'' created under the pen name Steve Nelson, more commonly known by "Veddge". The map is a subversive horror-thriller that revolves around a house that continues to change in shape, sometimes drastically and in a Non-Euclidean geometry, non-Euclidean manner. It poses as a recreation of a real suburban house made in tribute to the creator's deceased friend. The map draws inspiration from the 2000 novel ''House of Leaves'' by Mark Z. Danielewski and later reveals itself to be a horror game as the player discovers more areas of the house. ''MyHouse'' is non-linear and follows no particular plot sequence; its areas may be explored and completed at will in order to achieve any of five available endings. ''Doom'' WAD is the default format of package files for the video game '' Doom'' and its sequel '' Doom II: Hell on Earth'', that contain sprites, levels, and game data. WAD stands for ''Where's All the Data?''. Immediately after its release in 1993, ''Doom'' attracted a sizeable following of players who created their own mods for WAD files—packages containing new levels or graphics—and played a vital part in spawning the mod-making culture which is now commonplace for first-person shooter games.
