Muzha District
Muzha (), alternatively romanized Mucha, was a district in Taipei City, Taiwan. The name refers to wooden fences built in the region to defend against attacks by Taiwanese Indigenous peoples. During Qing rule, the area belonged to . After 1920, during Japanese rule, the area belonged to both and of of Bunsan District, Taihoku Prefecture (modern-day Shenkeng District and Neihu District). Muzha was transferred from Taipei County to become a district of Taipei City. In 1990, it merged with Jingmei District to become Wenshan District. Muzha Line
The Wenhu or Brown line (code BR) is a metro line in Taipei operated by Taipei Metro, named after the districts it connects: Wenshan and Neihu. It is an automated medium-capacity rubber-tyred metro line and is long, serving a total of 24 stations located in 7 districts in Taipei, of which 22 are elevated and 2 underground. As of April 2022, the line transports an average of approximately 140,000 passengers daily. The Wenshan section began revenue service on 28 March 1996, as the Muzha line. The Neihu section began revenue service on 4 July 2009. The Wenhu line was then named the Muzha–Neihu line, colloquially shortened as the Zhahu line, until 8 October 2009, when it adopted the current name, short for Wenshan-Neihu line. This was the first metro line to be constructed in Taipei and it is the only line without train approaching melody. Muzha Station
Muzha station (formerly transliterated as Mucha Station until 2003) is a station on Wenhu line of the Taipei Metro, located in Wenshan District, Taipei, Taiwan. Station overview This two-level, elevated station has two side platforms and a single exit. It is located between Muzha Rd. and Wanfang Rd., close to the intersection of Muzha Rd. and Jungong Rd. The name of the station is known to cause ambiguity. Muzha is an area in Wenshan District, which may lead people thinking that Muzha station is in Central Muzha. However, due to changes made during the planning of the Wenhu line, Muzha line, the locations of several stations were changed, and Muzha Station ended up being about 1 km away from central Muzha. This is also why the passenger volume of the station has always been low among the stations of the Taipei Metro.
