Muzaffarnagar (Assembly Constituency)
Muzaffarnagar Assembly constituency is one of the 403 constituencies of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, India. It is a part of the Muzaffarnagar district and one of the five assembly constituencies in the Muzaffarnagar Lok Sabha constituency. First election in this assembly constituency was held in 1951 after the "Delimitation Order" (DPACO-1951) was passed in 1951. In 2008, after the "Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies Order, 2008" was passed, this constituency was assigned identification number 14. Malti Sharma was an Indian politician. She was a Member of Parliament, representing Uttar Pradesh in the Rajya Sabha the upper house of India's Parliament as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. She was among the founding members of Jana Sangh and BJP. Whether it was Jana Sangh or BJP, she was counted among the top women party office bearers of the country. 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election
The election to the 17th Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly was held from 11 February to 8 March 2017 in 7 phases. This election saw a voter turnout of 61.11% compared to 59.40% in the previous election. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the election by an overwhelming three-quarters majority of 325 seats despite not projecting a chief ministerial candidate before the election. As part of its election strategy, BJP contested under a collective leadership and capitalised mostly on the political clout and 'brand' of its leader Narendra Modi. Chitranjan Swarup
Chitranjan Swaroop ( hi, चितरंजन स्वरुप) (9 March 1946 – 19 August 2015) was an Indian politician and a member of the 16th Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh of India. He represented the Muzaffarnagar constituency of Uttar Pradesh and was a member of the Samajwadi political party. Early life and education Chitranjan Swaroop was born in Muzaffarnagar district, Uttar Pradesh. Swaroop was a graduate. Before being elected as MLA, he used to work as an agriculturist. Political career Chitranjan Swaroop was a MLA for three terms. During all three terms, he represented the Muzaffarnagar constituency.
