''Muslim In Trump’s America'' is a 2020 current affairs documentary film produced for ITV (TV network), ITV's Exposure strand. The film had its British premiere on 1 November 2020, and Norwegian Premier on NRK 2 on 2 November. In this documentary, director Deeyah Khan investigates the impact of rising anti-Muslim hate groups, conspiracy theories and hate crimes since 2015. Khan meets the family of a Kansas farmer serving 30 years for an anti-Muslim bomb plot; she films with a right wing, armed militia who believe that Muslims are trying to take over America; and she meets ordinary Muslims whose lives have been shattered by violence and intolerance. Deeyah also meets the campaigners who are trying to combat a rising tide of hatred; and seeks to get to the heart of the Muslim experience in America; experiences of alienation, of rejection, and the daily struggles of keeping faith with both Islam and the American Dream. Deeyah Khan
Deeyah Khan (, , born 7 August 1977) is a Norwegian documentary film director and human rights activist of Punjabi/Pashtun descent. Deeyah is a two-time Emmy Award winner, two time Peabody Award winner, a BAFTA winner and has received the Royal Television Society award for Best Factual Director. She has made seven documentaries to date, all have been shown on ITV in the UK as part of its Exposure series. Her debut film as director and producer, '' Banaz: A Love Story'' (2012) about the honor killing of a British-Kurdish woman won an Emmy and a Peabody. Her second documentary, '' Jihad: A Story of the Others'', nominated for a BAFTA, Grierson and Monte-Carlo Television Festival involved two years interviewing Islamic extremists and convicted terrorists. NRK2 (pronounced as ''"NRK to"'') is one of the television channels of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK). It was launched on 1 September 1996. Raisuddin "Rais" Bhuiyan (; born September 1973) is a Bangladeshi American working as a technology professional in Dallas. A former officer in the Bangladesh Air Force, he was a student of Sylhet Cadet College who had gone to New York City to study computer technology. After the September 11 terror attacks, Bhuiyan was one of the three people shot by white supremacist Mark Anthony Stroman. Bhuiyan survived, but lost sight in one of his eyes.
