''Music for Hangovers'' is a live album and DVD by the rock band Cheap Trick. The album is a compilation from the band's four nights at The Metro (formerly Cabaret Metro) in Chicago, Illinois in 1998. On each of the four nights, Cheap Trick played one of their first four albums in their entirety to open the show, coinciding with the reissues of the albums. Cheap Trick
Cheap Trick is an American rock band formed in Rockford, Illinois in 1970 by guitarist Rick Nielsen, bassist Tom Petersson, lead vocalist Robin Zander and drummer Bun E. Carlos. Their work bridged elements of '60s pop rock, guitar pop, '70s hard rock, and the emerging punk rock sound, and would help set the template for subsequent power pop artists. Metro (formerly the Stages Music Hall and Cabaret Metro) is a concert hall in Chicago, Illinois, United States, that plays host to a variety of local, regional and national emerging bands and musicians. The Metro was first opened in 1982. The capacity is 1,100, divided between the main floor and the balcony. The building housing Metro also houses Smart Bar underneath the main venue. "I Can't Take It" is a song by the American rock band Cheap Trick, which was released in 1983 as the second single from their seventh studio album ''Next Position Please''. The song was written by Robin Zander and produced by Todd Rundgren. Writing "I Can't Take It" is credited solely to Zander, although Pete Comita, the bassist for Cheap Trick in 1980-81, later claimed that he came up with much of the track. According to Comita, he had the riff, melody and title, while Zander helped with the arrangement and the lyrics. Comita said in an interview in 2008 that the song originated as two separate tracks, "I Can't Take It" and "Move'n On", which he had written before joining the band in 1980.
