Music (Buffyverse)
The use of music was a key component in the fictional Buffyverse established by the TV shows ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer'' and Angel (1999 TV series), ''Angel''. Many actors of both series are professional singers/musicians, including Anthony Head, James Marsters, Amber Benson, Andy Hallett and Christian Kane. Themes Buffy theme The "Buffy theme" is the music played alongside the opening credits of the show. The theme itself has no lyrics; it begins with several notes played by an organ, a signifier for horror in movie culture from the 1930s onwards, followed by upbeat rock music. The theme was played by the pop punk band Nerf Herder. In an interview the band explained how they came to produce the theme: "[The Buffy production staff] had hired some famous theme song composer to come up with a theme and they didn't like the one he came up with so they were kind of on a low budget, and asked local bands to come up with theme song ideas." Buffyverse
The ''Buffyverse'' or ''Slayerverse'' is a Multimedia franchise, media franchise centered on the supernatural fiction, supernatural drama television series ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer'' and ''Angel (1999 TV series), Angel'', created by Joss Whedon. The term also refers to the shared fictional universe in which the TV series are set. Originally coined by fans of the series, it has since been used in the titles of published works, and adopted by Whedon. The ''Buffyverse'' is a setting in which supernatural phenomena exist, and supernatural evil can be challenged by people willing to fight against such forces. The franchise includes novels, comics, video games, and other media. Much of the licensed ''Buffyverse'' merchandise and media, while released officially, is not considered to be Buffyverse canon, canon within the universe. Holly Knight
Holly Knight (born 1956) is an American songwriter, musician, and singer. She was a member of the 1980s pop rock groups Spider and Device, and wrote or co-wrote several hit singles for other artists, such as " Rag Doll", " Obsession", " Love Is a Battlefield", " The Best", " Invincible", " Better Be Good to Me", " The Warrior", and "Change". In 2013, she was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Jenny Calendar
Jenny Calendar is a fictional character in the fantasy television series ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer'' (1997–2003). Played by Robia LaMorte, Jenny is the computer teacher at Sunnydale High School. Unbeknownst to Buffy or anyone else, Jenny has been sent to Sunnydale to keep an eye on Angel. In the first two seasons of the series, Jenny Calendar is Rupert Giles' primary romantic interest. She serves to counter his technophobia and is a rare adult female role model for the young women in Buffy's circle. "Becoming" is the season finale of the second season of the drama television series ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer'', consisting of the twenty-first and twenty-second episodes. The episode aired on The WB was split into two parts, which were broadcast separately; "Part 1" first aired on May 12, 1998, and "Part 2" first aired on May 19, 1998. "The Gift" is the season 5 finale, and the 100th episode, of the fantasy-horror television series ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer'' (1997–2003). The episode aired on The WB on May 22, 2001. The episode serves as the "WB Finale" of the series, as it moved to the UPN channel for the remainder of the series.
