16volt is an American industrial rock band featuring Eric Powell, with other performers added for live shows. History 16volt was formed in Portland, Oregon by composer and vocalist Eric Powell. Powell recruited musicians drummer Joel Bornzin, guitarist Jon Fell and Jeff Taylor to record "Motorskill", which debuted on ''The Cyberflesh Conspiracy'' various artist compilation by Re-Constriction Records, If It Moves... Two-thousand copies of the album were re-pressed by Dark City Music with new cover art and the first 100 copies signed by the band. Reception Don Kline of AllMusic called ''SuperCoolNothing'' "a menacing album full of whisper-to-scream verses, explosive choruses, and brooding electronic soundscapes." ''Skin'' is the second studio album by 16volt, released on January 13, 1994 by Re-Constriction Records. Reception John Bush of AllMusic compared the band favorably to Skinny Puppy and said that "''Skin'' has the same sinister vocals, raucous percussion and samples as Ogilvie's band." ''Aiding & Abetting'' called ''Skin'' "a stunning display of musical and creative power" and credited the live sound and diverse compositions as being the high points of the album."
