''Jim Henson's Muppet Babies'', commonly known by the shortened title ''Muppet Babies'', is an American animated television series produced by Marvel Productions for Jim Henson Productions. The show portrays toddler versions of the Muppets living together in a nursery under the care of a woman known as Nanny, involving the concepts of the power of imagination and creative problem-solving. The show's main target group is for children aged 2–5. The idea of presenting the Muppets as children appeared in a dream sequence in '' The Muppets Take Manhattan'' (1984), released two months before ''Muppet Babies'' debuted. Lee Gunther
Lee Gunther (May 30, 1935 – August 25, 1998) was a co-founder of Marvel Productions and a film editor (which, in animation parlance, means sound effects editor) on more than 85 animated shorts in all. Career Starting at Warner Bros. in the 1960s, and then at DePatie–Freleng Enterprises, he also worked as a production manager in the 1970s. After DePatie–Freleng was sold to Marvel Comics Group in 1981, Gunther became one of the founders of Marvel Productions Ltd., where he served as executive vice president and executive producer on television series such as ''Spider-Man'', ''G.I. ''Muppet Babies'' is an American animated television series featuring toddler versions of the Muppets characters that began airing on Disney Jr. on March 23, 2018, and is aimed at a target audience of children from ages 4–7. It is a Reboot (fiction), reboot of the Muppet Babies (1984 TV series), original 1984 animated series of the same name. 71 episodes were produced. ''Little Muppet Monsters'' is an American Saturday morning television series featuring the Muppets that aired three episodes on CBS in 1985. The first season of '' Muppet Babies'' did so well in the ratings, that CBS decided to expand the series from a half-hour to an hour, pairing ''Muppet Babies'' with ''Little Muppet Monsters''.
