Municipality Of Loški Potok
The Municipality of Loški Potok (; ) is a Municipalities of Slovenia, municipality in southern Slovenia. It is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region. The municipal administration is based in the settlement of Hrib–Loški Potok. Traditionally forestry provided the main income for local inhabitants and it still plays an important role. It borders Croatia. Name The name ''Loški Potok'' was originally a hydronym, derived from the adjective form of ''log'' '(swampy) meadow' + ''potok'' 'stream', thus literally meaning 'stream in a (swampy) meadow'. This probably refers to the level area south of Travnik, Loški Potok, Travnik, where there is a creek with the same name. The name was attested in written sources as ''Laserbach'', ''Loserbach'', and ''Lasserbach'' in 1763–1787. The Municipality of Ribnica (; ) is a municipality in southern Slovenia. The seat of the municipality is the town of Ribnica. It is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region. Municipality Of Sodražica
The Municipality of Sodražica (; ) is a municipality in the Lower Carniola region of Slovenia. The seat of the municipality is the town of Sodražica. It is included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region. It borders the municipalities of Ribnica, Velike Lašče, Bloke, and Loški Potok. In Austro-Hungary, and also in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, Sodražica was an independent municipality, until the creation of Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia. It became an independent municipality once again in 1998, when it separated from the Municipality of Ribnica. Historically, the inhabitants made woodenware (), especially sieve rims, buckets, spoons, rakes, and wicker baskets. Retje
Retje () is a village in the Municipality of Loški Potok in southern Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region. Mass graves Retje is the site of two known mass graves associated with the Second World War. The Bezelj 1 Mass Grave () is located in the woods northeast of the village, east of the road to Sodražica. It contains the remains of five German prisoners of war that were brought from Mali Log and murdered here. The Bezelj 2 Mass Grave () lies east of the first grave. It contains the remains of two Home Guard soldiers and three Russian Liberation Army soldiers.
