Mum's On Strike
''Mum's on Strike'' is a British lifestyle programme that aired on ITV (TV network), ITV from 11 April 2005 to 23 June 2006. It was narrated by Rory McGrath and featured Anna Raeburn as the "parenting expert." Format Each programme features two families. The mother of the house heads off in a limo for a weekend of pampering, leaving the father in charge. The mum will remove the one item from the house she reckons stops him pulling his weight in the first place, such as the SKY remote or a bag of PE kit. Day one typically involves feeding the children and organising the school run, doing housework and helping with housework. On day two, typically a Saturday, the dad has to face a task their partner reckons he's always avoided in the past. It might be taking all three youngsters shopping for school shoes, or preparing a picnic and taking them out for an activity day. Anna Raeburn
Anna Raeburn (born 3 April 1944) is a British broadcaster, author and journalist who is best known for her role as a radio agony aunt, giving advice on relationships and more general life problems. As a broadcaster, she has worked for Capital London, Capital Radio, LBC and the original Talksport, Talk Radio. She has authored two books and currently writes her own weekly blog called "Annalog". Early life Raeburn went to the all-girls Kirby College of Further Education, Kirby Grammar School in Linthorpe, Middlesbrough, north Yorkshire. She moved to London aged 17 and at 19 was working in New York. She worked for ''Penthouse (magazine), Penthouse'', ''Penthouse Forum, Forum'' and ''Cosmopolitan (magazine), Cosmopolitan''. ITV Day was a programming block that broadcast on ITV1 from 9.25 am until 6.00 pm on weekdays and launched on 11 April 2005. The presentation was created by Bruce Dunlop Associates and said "ITV Day effectively creates a new brand, a change in programming and schedule will alter viewer perception". The "ITV Day" brand disappeared from screens on 13 January 2006, as ITV1 presentation was relaunched, along with the entire ITV family of channels. Branding The package was based around a logo and colour scheme that delineated the ITV Day branding from the rest of ITV1. The scheme of yellow, orange and red represented the colour of and warmth of the sun.
