Multidrop Bus
A multidrop bus (MDB) is a computer bus able to connect three or more devices. A process of arbitration determines which device sends information at any point. The other devices listen for the data they are intended to receive. Multidrop buses have the advantage of simplicity and extensibility, but their differing electrical characteristics make them relatively unsuitable for high frequency or high bandwidth applications. Fully Buffered DIMM
A Fully Buffered DIMM (FB-DIMM) is a type of memory module used in computer systems. It is designed to improve memory performance and capacity by allowing multiple memory modules to be each connected to the memory controller using a serial interface, rather than a parallel one. Unlike the parallel bus architecture of traditional DRAMs, an FB-DIMM has a serial interface between the memory controller and the ''advanced memory buffer'' (AMB). Conventionally, data lines from the memory controller have to be connected to data lines in every DRAM module, i.e. via multidrop buses. As the memory width increases together with the access speed, the signal degrades at the interface between the bus and the device. Asynchronous serial communication is a form of serial communication in which the communicating endpoints' interfaces are not continuously synchronized by a common clock signal. Synchronization ( clock recovery) is done by data-embedded signal: the data stream contains synchronization information in a form of start and stop signals set before and after each payload transmission. Signal Reflection
In telecommunications, signal reflection happens when a signal is transmitted along a transmission medium (such as a copper cable or an optical fiber) and part of it is reflected back toward the source instead of reaching the end. This reflection is caused by imperfections or physical variations in the cable (such as abrupt changes in its geometry) that lead to impedance mismatches. These mismatches disrupt the signal and cause some of it to bounce back. In radio frequency (RF) systems, this is typically measured using the voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR), with device called a VSWR bridge.
