Muhammad Imran (footballer)
Mohammad Imran (; born on November 15, 1986) is a Pakistani former footballer who played as a defender. Early life Nicknamed ''Lefty'', Imran was born in Pir Mahal, in Toba Tek Singh district of Pakistan. Club career Imran started his career at Allied Bank in 2004. He moved to PTCL Islamabad the next year. In 2005, Imran moved to Pakistan Army F.C. He won the Pakistan Premier League with Pakistan Army in 2006 and 2007. Imran was also declared Most Valuable Player (MVP) of Pakistan Premier League 2007-08. He also participated in the AFC President's Cup with the club. International career In April 2005, Imran was selected at the 2005 Islamic Solidarity Games. Imran senior debut was on 12 June 2005, in the first of a three-game series against India, the game ended in a 1–1 draw. He was subsequently called for the 2005 SAFF Gold Cup. Toba Tek Singh
Toba Tek Singh (, ) is a Pakistan city and capital of Toba Tek Singh District in the Punjab province. It is surrounded by cities of Gojra, Kamalia, Rajana, Pir Mahal and Shorkot. History The city and district is named after a Sikh religious figure Tek Singh. Legend has it that Singh, a kind-hearted man, served water and provided shelter to the worn out and thirsty travelers passing by a small pond ("toba" in Punjabi) which eventually was called Toba Tek Singh, and the surrounding settlement acquired the same name. British Raj Toba Tek Singh was developed by the British toward the end of the 19th Century when a canal system was built. Football At The South Asian Games
Football has been a sport at the South Asian Games since it commenced in 1984. Since the 2004 South Asian Games, the age limit for men's teams is under 23, plus up to three overaged players for each squad, which is the same as the age limit in football competitions at the Summer Olympics and Asian Games. Nepal and Pakistan are currently the most successful countries in the Men's event with 4 Gold Medals each while India is the most successful in Women's event with 3 Gold Medals. 2008 AFC Challenge Cup Qualification
The qualification phase for the 2008 AFC Challenge Cup saw four teams advance to the finals to join four automatic qualifiers in the final tournament in India. The Singapore national under-23 football team is the national under-23 association football team of Singapore. The team comes under the organisation of the Football Association of Singapore (FAS). Players are usually selected from the Singapore Premier League team, Young Lions as the squad is composed mostly of players undergoing their National Service and also because of their time playing together in the same squad. The Asian Football Confederation's Pre-Olympic Tournament was held from 7 February to 21 November 2007. Twenty-four teams entered the qualification for the three allocated spots for the 2008 Summer Olympics Football tournament in Beijing.
