Moët & Chandon (), also known simply as Moët, is a French fine winery and part of the luxury goods company LVMH, LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE. Moët et Chandon is one of the world's largest champagne producers and a prominent List of champagne producers, champagne house. Moët et Chandon was established in 1743 by Claude Moët, and today owns of vineyards, and annually produces approximately 28,000,000 bottles of champagne. History Moët et Chandon began as Moët et Cie (meaning "Moët & Co."), established by Épernay wine trader Claude Moët in 1743, and began shipping his wine from Champagne (wine region), Champagne to Paris. Laura Monyeazo Abebe (born 29 July 1989), popularly known as Moet Abebe, is a Nigerian video jockey, television presenter, actress, and catering exec. Early life Born in the United Kingdom, she went to Corona Ikoyi Primary School for her primary school education, and attended Dowen College for a year for part of her secondary education. From there she went to Woldingham School and St. Teresa's Secondary School also in Surrey where she then did her GCSEs and A-Levels. In 2008 she gained admission into the University of Manchester, where she studied Law. Claude Moët
Claude Moët (1683–1760) was a French vintner and wine merchant who founded the Champagne house that later became Moët et Chandon. Moët was the first winemaker in Champagne to exclusively produce sparkling wine. An expert salesman, Moët advocated the importance of personal contact with customers. During the 1730s, he networked extensively within the royal circles of Versailles and soon became one of few merchants accredited to serve the royal court. Michèle Moet-Agniel
Michèle Moet-Agniel (born 11 June 1926) was a member of the French Resistance, distributing leaflets and later helping Allied aviators escape back to Britain. She was arrested and deported to the Ravensbruck concentration camp, but was rescued by Russian soldiers. After the war, Agniel became a teacher. Early life Michèle Moet-Agniel was born Michèle Moet in 1926 in Paris to a French World War I veteran and a Dutch immigrant. World War II At the outbreak of World War II, Moet-Agniel, then 14, was on vacation with her family at Fort-Mahon-Plage. They stayed there until May 1940, returning to Paris on foot.
