Mozart's Mini-Mart
''Mozart Estate Present Go-Kart Mozart in Mozart's Mini-Mart'' (shortened to ''Mozart's Mini-Mart'') is the fourth studio album by Go-Kart Mozart, the musical project of former Felt and Denim frontman Lawrence. It was released on 23 February 2018 on West Midlands Records, a subsidiary of Cherry Red. The album was originally envisioned by Lawrence as a mini-album, and was intended to be a companion piece to the band's previous album '' On the Hot Dog Streets''. However, the mini-album was never completed in time, and was later extended into a 17-track full-length album. The album was produced by Ian Button, formerly of the band Death in Vegas. The album's release coincided with the remastered editions of the first five Felt albums by Cherry Red on CD and vinyl. Go-Kart Mozart
Mozart Estate, formerly known as Go-Kart Mozart, are an English indie pop band founded by Lawrence, previously of the bands Felt and Denim. Lawrence formed the group as a reaction to his previous bands' lack of commercial success. He has called it "the world's first B-side band," which he explains "simply meant that you would take away the pressure of I've got to write a hit single, I've got to write an album that's going to get in the top ten." The band's original name is derived from a line in the song "Blinded by the Light" by Bruce Springsteen. Cherry Red Records is a British independent record label founded in Malvern, Worcestershire by Iain McNay in 1978. The label has released recordings by Dead Kennedys, Everything but the Girl, The Monochrome Set, and Felt, among others, as well as the compilation album ''Pillows & Prayers''. Roger Whittaker
Roger Henry Brough Whittaker (22 March 1936 – 13 September 2023) was a Kenyan-born British singer-songwriter and musician. His music is an eclectic mixture of folk music and popular songs, the latter variously in a crooning or in a schlager style. He is best known for his baritone singing voice and trademark whistling ability as well as his guitar skills. ''New World in the Morning'' is a studio album by British singer-songwriter Roger Whittaker released by EMI in 1971. It features some of his most popular folk songs, including the international hit "The Last Farewell" as well as "A Special Kind of Man" and " Streets of London". A mini-LP or mini-album is a short record album or LP, usually retailing at a lower price than an album that would be considered full-length. It is distinct from an EP due to containing more tracks and a slightly longer running length. A mini-LP is not to be confused with the Japanese CDs issued in a " mini LP sleeve" or "paper jacket". Lawrence (musician)
Lawrence Hayward, known mononymously as Lawrence, is an English singer, songwriter and guitarist. He is known as the frontman in the English indie pop bands Felt, Denim, and Mozart Estate (formerly Go-Kart Mozart). Music career Felt Felt released ten albums in the 1980s, and Lawrence was the only constant member of the band from its inception in 1979 to its dissolution in 1989, though he doesn't appear at all on the band's penultimate album, '' Train Above The City'', despite being present at the recording sessions.
