"Moving" is a song by alternative rock band Travis (band), Travis. It was released on 1 July 2013 as the second single to promote the band's seventh studio album, ''Where You Stand''. "Moving" was written by the band's bassist Dougie Payne. The song has charted in Japan. Composition In an album commentary, Dougie Payne said the song was inspired by his frequent moves, and the feeling of moving house every six months: "It was kinda this notion of this perpetual motion." Travis are a Scottish rock band formed in Glasgow in 1990, and composed of Fran Healy (musician), Fran Healy (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Dougie Payne (bass guitar, backing vocals), Andy Dunlop (lead guitar, banjo, backing vocals), and Neil Primrose (musician), Neil Primrose (drums, percussion). Neil Primrose (musician)
Neil Primrose (born 20 February 1972) is the drummer of the Scottish rock band Travis. Early life Primrose was born in Cumbernauld. His father, a power station engineer, was posted to Middlesbrough, and this was followed by a series of moves across the northeast of England during the first ten years of Primrose's life. At the age of 15 at high school in Glasgow he was playing drums with friends in local bands. Career Travis (1989–present) In 1989 at the age of 17, Primrose started his drumming career when he was going for as many auditions as possible and looking for like-minded players to form a group. This led to him joining the band ''Glass Onion'' with Andy Dunlop along with brothers Chris and Geoff Martyn in 1990. Andy Dunlop (born Andrew Dunlop, 16 March 1972) is a Scottish musician, who is the lead guitarist of Scottish indie band, Travis. Biography Dunlop attended Lenzie Academy. The band Travis got their break with the album '' The Man Who'', named after a bestselling book. The album was internationally successful, and became the biggest selling album in the UK in 1999.
