Mount Victoria is a village in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, Australia. Mount Victoria is a former New Zealand electorate, centred on the inner-city suburb of Mount Victoria in the southern suburbs of Wellington. It existed from 1946 to 1954, and was represented by one Member of Parliament, Jack Marshall. Mount Victoria (Tasmania)
Mount Victoria is a mountain in the Mount Victoria Forest Reserve in north-east Tasmania, Australia, and also forms part of the Ben Lomond bioregion and the Ben Lomond National Park. The peak has an elevation of above sea level and is the 58th highest mountain in Tasmania. It is a prominent feature of the reserve, and is a popular venue with bushwalkers. Mount Victoria is the highest point in the Owen Stanley Ranges in Central Province, Papua New Guinea at . It lies approximately 75 km north-north-east of Port Moresby and can be seen on a clear day from the city. The Mountain was named in honour of the British Queen Victoria by Commander Charles B Yule. History Originally known as just the ''Great Mountain'' there had been several attempts to scale the peak by British colonialists in the 1880s. These attempts had failed after clashes with local villagers. The first successful recorded ascent was in 1889 by the British New Guinea Administrator, Sir William MacGregor.
