Mount Iō (Akan)
also Mount Iwo is a volcano in the Akan Volcanic Complex of Hokkaidō, Japan. It sits within the borders of the town of Teshikaga, Hokkaidō, Teshikaga. The mountain was once mined for sulphur, hence its name. To the Ainu people, Ainu the mountain was known as Atosanupuri (''naked mountain''). The mountain is quite bare. Despite its bareness and being a rather low mountain at it hosts alpine plant life. It hosts colonies of Siberian Dwarf Pine, Rhododendron diversipilosum, and other members of Ericaceae. Mount Iō (Shiretoko)
also Mount Iwo is an active andesitic stratovolcano on the Shiretoko Peninsula of Hokkaidō, Japan. It sits within the borders of the town of Shari. Mount Iō (Yatsugatake)
is a mountain on the border of Chino and Minamimaki, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. This mountain is one of the major mountains of Yatsugatake Mountains. Mount Iō literally means, ''sulphur mountain''. Outline Mount Iō is a stratovolcano in Southern Yatsugatake Volcanic Group, with sharp cliffs on both the northern and southern side. This mountain belongs to the Yatsugatake-Chūshin Kōgen Quasi-National Park.
