Moshe Tamir (general)
Moshe "Chiko" Tamir (; born 1964) is an Israeli brigadier general who commanded the Gaza Division of the Israel Defense Forces. Military service Tamir was drafted into the IDF in 1982 and did his military service in the Golani Brigade, of which he became commander in 2001–2003. He served as a soldier, a squad leader in the brigade's 13th Battalion. In 1984 he became an infantry officer after finishing the officer candidates' school, and returned to the Golani Brigade. Tamir led the Brigade's reconnaissance company, the 12th Battalion and Egoz Unit in counter-guerrilla operations in South Lebanon. For his actions as the commander of Egoz Unit, Tamir received the Head of Regional Command (Aluf) Citation. Afterwards he commanded a regional brigade in South Lebanon. Tamir commanded the Golani Brigade during the Second Intifada, including during Operation Defensive Shield. Honorable Discharge
A military discharge is given when a member of the armed forces is released from their obligation to serve. Each country's military has different types of discharge. They are generally based on whether the persons completed their training and then fully and satisfactorily completed their term of service. Other types of discharge are based on factors such as the quality of their service, whether their service had to be ended prematurely due to humanitarian or medical reasons, whether they had been found to have drug or alcohol dependency issues and whether they were complying with treatment and counseling, and whether they had demerits or punishments for infractions or were convicted of any crimes. The Egoz Unit (, lit. "Walnut Unit", Egoz being the acronym for "anti-guerrilla and small-scale warfare"), officially Unit 621, is an elite Israel Defense Forces (IDF) commando unit specializing in anti-guerrilla warfare, special reconnaissance, and direct action. ''Squad Leader'' is a tactical level board war game originally published by Avalon Hill in 1977. It was designed by John Hill and simulates on infantry combat in Europe during World War II. One of the most complex war games of its time, ''Squad Leader'' is the natural extension of the trend towards greater realism (and hence complexity) initiated by several earlier games, including Avalon Hill's own '' PanzerBlitz'' and '' Panzer Leader''. Those two earlier games were slightly larger in scope, with counters representing platoons and map hexes measuring 250 metres across, compared to Squad Leader's 40 meter hexes and squad sized units.
