Moonpools
Moonpools & Caterpillars were a Filipino American alternative rock band based in California. They released three albums commercially, ''The Pink Album'' (self-released), '' Lucky Dumpling'' (1995, Elektra Records), and ''12 Songs'' (self-released). ''Lucky Dumpling'' was produced by Richard Gottehrer. Their first album, ''The Pink Album'', was a recording of a live show at Los Angeles's Whisky a Go Go, where many of their early shows were played. The band's music was featured in the movies '' The Baby-Sitters Club'' (1995), '' Wish Upon a Star'' (1996), and ''Frozen Stars'' (2003). Their song "Hear" was used in a 1995 VW Drivers Wanted commercial. The "moonpools" portion of their name is in reference to '' Sealab 2020''. Lead singer Kimi Ward Encarnacion is known for being very energetic on stage. The Whisky a Go Go (informally nicknamed The Whisky) is a historic nightclub in West Hollywood, California, United States. It is located at 8901 Sunset Boulevard on the Sunset Strip, corner North Clark Street, opposite North San Vicente Boulevard, northwest corner. ''Sealab 2020'' is an American animated television series produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions and broadcast on NBC from September 9 to December 2, 1972, on Saturday mornings. The series was created by Alex Toth, who also created such other Hanna-Barbera cartoons as '' Space Ghost'' and '' Birdman and the Galaxy Trio''. Richard Gottehrer
Richard Gottehrer (born June 12, 1940) is an American songwriter, record producer and record label executive. His career began as a Brill Building songwriter in the 1960s. His first number one record as a songwriter and producer was " My Boyfriend's Back" by the Angels, followed by other hits like " Hang On Sloopy" by the McCoys and " I Want Candy" by the Strangeloves, of which the latter Gottehrer was a member. In 1966, he formed Sire Records with Seymour Stein. His career continued as producer for the Go-Go's' 1981 debut album, Dr. Feelgood, Richard Hell, the Bongos and Moonpools & Caterpillars' first release with a major label, 1995's ''Lucky Dumpling''. Elektra Records
Elektra Records (or Elektra Entertainment) is an American record label owned by Warner Music Group, founded in 1950 by Jac Holzman and Paul Rickolt. It played an important role in the development of contemporary folk and rock music between the 1950s and 1970s. In 2004, it was consolidated into WMG's Atlantic Records Group. After five years of dormancy, the label was revived as an imprint of Atlantic in 2009.
