Montreal And Southern Counties Railway
The Montreal and Southern Counties Railway Company (often abbreviated M&SCRC or M&SC) was an electric interurban streetcar line that served communities between Montreal and Granby, Quebec, Granby from 1909 until 1956. A second branch served the city of Longueuil. Operated by the Canadian National Railway (CN), the M&SCRC ran trams on tracks in the street in Montreal and closer South Shore (Montreal), South Shore communities, and on separate right of way in rural areas. Marieville () is a city in the Canadian province of Quebec. It is located within the Rouville Regional County Municipality in the Montérégie region about east of Montreal. The population as of the Canada 2021 Census was 11,332. History In 1708, Sieur Claude de Ramezey obtained a parcel of land which was named the Monnoir manor. Population increased starting at around 1740. It became a parish in 1832 and officially an incorporated municipality in 1858 and later an incorporated city in 1905. In 2000, the parish of Sainte-Marie-de-Monnoir, which previously demerged from Marieville in 1855 was re-merged. Its main economic activity today is still agriculture. The Central Vermont Railway was a railroad that operated in the U.S. states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, and Vermont, as well as the Canadian province of Quebec. Greenfield Park is a List of former municipalities in Quebec, former city in southwestern Quebec, Canada. It is currently a Boroughs of Longueuil, borough of the city of Longueuil. The Country Club of Montreal () is a private 18-hole golf course located in Saint-Lambert, Quebec, Canada. Originally dedicated to polo, the club's vocation changed to golf on November 17, 1910, making it the second oldest golf course in Greater Montreal. Originally a 9-hole golf course, 9 more holes were added in subsequent years, and in 1974, the course was redesigned and modernized by Roy Dye of Pete Dye and Associates. The Jacques Cartier Bridge () is a steel truss cantilever bridge crossing the Saint Lawrence River from Montreal Island, Montreal, Quebec, to the south shore at Longueuil, Quebec, Canada. Le Vieux-Longueuil (, ) is a borough in the city of Longueuil. From 2002 to 2006, Le Vieux-Longueuil borough stood for what used to be the city of Longueuil from 1969 to 2002. The former city of Longueuil was composed of 3 cities merged in the 1960s: Ville Jacques-Cartier, Montréal-Sud and Longueuil. Since 2006, Le Vieux-Longueuil borough stands for the combination of the former city of Longueuil and LeMoyne.
