Monsters In Love
''Monsters in Love'' is the fifth studio album by the French rock band Dionysos, released 29 August 2005 and produced by John Parish. The album features songs in both English and French. Background This album was written by the band's lead singer after the death of his mother. A lot of the songs and characters began as short stories which he was writing to help deal with his bereavement. A book by the lead singer also accompanies the album: ''Maintenant qu'il fait tout le temps nuit sur toi''. There has also been a live album and DVD released (''Monsters in Live'') featuring many of the songs that appear on this album. Moles (nightclub)
Moles is a live music venue and nightclub in Bath, Somerset with a capacity of 220 people. It was opened by Phillip Andrews on New Year's Eve 1977. It is known as a grassroots venue and has hosted many music acts before they became household names, such as Oasis, Ed Sheeran, The Killers, Radiohead, The Cure, King Crimson, Eurythmics, and Supergrass. Moles closed and filed for insolvency in October 2023. History Moles was founded by Phillip Andrews, who was also the director of the venue. He was the club's director from 1977 to 2009. Andrews was disappointed at the 'Euro disco crap', and he and a friend thought that Bath needed a good club. He wanted to have a club with " real ale, veggie food and live music". The landlord of the venue (which had previously been Six of Clubs), heard about Andrews' idea and gave him 10 days to decide whether he wanted to take on turning the venue into a club. In ancient Greek religion and myth, Dionysus (; grc, Διόνυσος ) is the god of the grape-harvest, winemaking, orchards and fruit, vegetation, fertility, insanity, ritual madness, religious ecstasy, festivity, and theatre. The Romans called him Bacchus ( or ; grc, Βάκχος ) for a frenzy he is said to induce called ''bakkheia''. Paul Corkett
Paul Corkett is a British record producer, engineer and arranger. Biography Paul got his start as an engineer in the mid-1980s, engineering singles and albums for bands as varied as ABC, the Chameleons, Twelfth Night and the Heart Throbs. He landed his first big engineering gig in 1992, recording the single "China" for Tori Amos's debut album '' Little Earthquakes''. In 1994, he produced his first full album, the second album ''Fake'' by Adorable. His engineering work on the Cure's tenth album '' Wild Mood Swings'' led to him producing the band's next album, '' Bloodflowers'', released in 2000. After engineering Placebo's second album '' Without You I'm Nothing'', in 1999 Corkett was invited to produce the band's third album '' Black Market Music''. The Kills
The Kills are an English-American rock duo formed by American singer Alison "VV" Mosshart and English guitarist Jamie "Hotel" Hince. They are signed to Domino Records. Their first four albums, '' Keep On Your Mean Side'', '' No Wow'', '' Midnight Boom'', and '' Blood Pressures'', all reached the UK album chart. Dionysos (French Band)
Dionysos is a French rock band formed in 1993 in Valence, Drôme; they formed at their lycée. They perform songs in both French and English, and have released six studio albums. They are well known in France for their surrealism and eccentricity. Their first album, ''Happening Songs'', was self-produced and with entirely English lyrics. With their second album ''The sun is blue like eggs in Winter'' (also self-produced) Babet became a member. In 1999, they signed to a major label (the now defunct Trema) and released ''Haïku'' which brought the band in to the public eye, mainly thanks to the success of the single "Coccinelle". The name of the band comes from the ancient Greek god Dionysus, which in French is ''Dionysos''. Influences There are strong non-musical influences from Tim Burton and Roald Dahl.
