"Monochrome no Kiss" (モノクロのキス) is a single by Japanese visual kei rock band Sid, released on October 29, 2008, by Ki/oon Records. It is the first theme song of ''Black Butler''. "Monochrome no Kiss" was included on the album ''Hikari'' and on ''Sid 10th Anniversary Best'' and ''SID Anime Best 2008-2017'' compilations. The single was released as the band's first work on a major label and Sid's first anime song. It won the 31st Anime Grand Prix in best anime song category. Commercial performance "Monochrome no Kiss" reached number four on Oricon Singles Chart and charted for 27 weeks. By January 2009, the single had sold around 100,000 physical copies. In May 2009, it was certified gold by RIAJ for selling more than 100,000 digital copies. In January 2017, became platinum after exceeding 250,000 copies. Sid (band)
is a Japanese visual kei rock band, formed in 2003 and signed to Sony Records. Background SID (シド) was founded in 2003 by vocalist Mao (ex-Shula) and bassist Aki (ex-Ram Rem). They were joined by two support members, guitarist Shinji (ex-Uranus) and drummer Yuuya (ex-Shula). The four of them released the band's first demo CD, ''Yoshigai Manabu 17-sai (Mushoku)'' (吉開学 17歳 (無職)), on mini-disc that August and soon after, they signed on with Danger Crue Records. Though SID technically began in 2003, the band considers January 14, 2004 the date of their 'birth' as it was announced at their show at the Meguro Rock May Kan that Shinji and Yuuya would be joining as official members. Mao (singer)
is a Japanese singer, known for being the lead singer of visual kei rock band Sid (band), SID and writer of all the lyrics. SID became popular in Japan in mid-2010 with the album ''Hikari (Sid album), Hikari'', which includes the anime songs "Monochrome no Kiss" and "Uso" with lyrics written by Mao. He began a solo career in 2016 using the name Mao from SID, debuting at the top 10 of Oricon charts. On July 3, 2021, he was appointed ambassador of his hometown, Kurume. Career 1995–2008: Early years and SID Mao joined his first band in high school and moved to Tokyo with the group. After creating a band called Dildo around 1995, he formed Shula in 1999. Yoyogi National Gymnasium
Yoyogi National Gymnasium, officially is an indoor arena located at Yoyogi Park in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan, which is famous for its suspension roof design. It was designed by Kenzo Tange and built between 1961 and 1964 to house swimming and diving events in the 1964 Summer Olympics. A separate annex was used for the basketball competition at those same games. It will also host handball competitions at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
