Mongolia National Badminton Team
The Mongolia national badminton team () represents Mongolia in international badminton team competitions. It is controlled by the Mongolian Badminton Association (Mongolian: ''Монголын Бадминтоны Холбоо''; Mongolian script: ᠮᠣᠩᠭᠣᠯ ᠤᠨ ᠪᠠᠳᠮᠢᠨᠲ᠋ᠣᠨ ᠤ ᠬᠣᠯᠪᠣᠭᠠ). Although badminton is not a popular in the country, the Mongolian team have competed twice in the Sudirman Cup, in 2005 and 2009. The Mongolian badminton team also competed in the now defunct East Asian Games. 1976 Thomas Cup
The 1976 Thomas Cup was the tenth edition of Thomas Cup, the world championship of men's international team badminton (its female counterpart is the Uber Cup). The final rounds contested by qualifying teams were held in Bangkok, Thailand in late May and early June. First played in 1948–49, the Thomas Cup competition was held every three years after that until 1982 and has been held every two years since. 2004 Thomas & Uber Cup
The 2004 Thomas & Uber Cup was held from 7 May to 16 May 2004 in Jakarta, Indonesia. It was the 23rd edition of the World Men's Team Badminton Championships, Thomas Cup, and the 20th edition of World Women's Team Badminton Championships, Uber Cup. After a 12-year drought China finally lifted their fifth title of Thomas Cup and also won their ninth title of Uber Cup. Host city selection Indonesia, Japan, and the United States are the countries to submit a bid for hosting the event. Indonesia was selected as host during IBF council meeting in Birmingham. The 2002 Thomas & Uber Cup was held in Guangzhou, China from May 9 to May 19, 2002. It was the 22nd tournament of World Men's Team Badminton Championships of Thomas Cup and 19th tournament of World Women's Team Badminton Championships of Uber Cup. It is the only Thomas & Uber Cup that was played in a 7 points / 5 sets scoring system. The 1996 Thomas & Uber Cup was the 19th tournament of the Thomas Cup, and the 16th tournament of the Uber Cup, which are the major international team competitions in world badminton. The 1996 Thomas and Uber Cup press conference was held in Bank Rakyat Indonesia's building at the Sentra BRI Complex in Sudirman, Central Jakarta. The press conference was led by Putera Sampoerna, the chairman of PT HM Sampoerna Tbk which is the manufacturer of A Mild, the 5th Indonesian largest cigarette brand. A Mild was also the main sponsor of the 1996 Thomas and Uber Cup. The opening and closing ceremony of the tournament was led by Putera Sampoerna.
