Money In The Bank (2011)
The 2011 Money in the Bank was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) List of WWE pay-per-view events, event produced by WWE. It was the second annual WWE Money in the Bank, Money in the Bank and took place on July 17, 2011, at the Allstate Arena in the Chicago suburb of Rosemont, Illinois, held for wrestlers from the promotion's Raw (WWE brand), Raw and SmackDown (WWE brand), SmackDown WWE brand extension, brand divisions. This was the last Money in the Bank held under the first brand extension, which ended in August, but was reinstated in July 2016. Seven matches were contested at the event, including one broadcast as a dark match. In the main event, CM Punk defeated John Cena to win the WWE Championship and thus, Cena was fired in kayfabe, storyline. Paul Donald Wight II (born February 8, 1972) is an American professional wrestler and actor. He is signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) under his real name of Paul Wight. The Money in the Bank ladder match is a multi-person ladder match held by the professional wrestling promotion WWE.
