Monash University Faculty Of Business And Economics
The Faculty of Business and Economics is one of the 10 primary faculties at Monash University. The Faculty is made up of two distinct schools – Monash Business School located in Melbourne, Australia and the School of Business at Monash University Malaysia. In addition, the Faculty runs specialist business units and courses at Monash Suzhou in China, the Monash Prato Centre in Italy and Monash Indonesia, located in Jakarta. Collectively the Faculty of Business and Economics is home to over 21,600 students. It offers undergraduate, graduate and research degrees, with different options available at the different Monash locations. Julian William Kennedy Burnside (born 9 June 1949) is an Australian barrister, human rights and refugee advocate, and author. He practises principally in commercial litigation, trade practices and administrative law. He is best known for his staunch opposition to the mandatory detention of asylum seekers, and has provided legal counsel in a wide variety of high-profile cases. Margaret Anne Jackson (born 17 March 1953) is an Australian corporate executive. She was the first Chairwoman of Qantas Airways from 2000 to 2007 amongst other company and charitable directorships. The Division of Kooyong () is an Australian Electoral Division for the Australian House of Representatives in the state of Victoria, which covers an area of approximately in the inner-east of Melbourne. Joshua Anthony Frydenberg (; born 17 July 1971) is an Australian former politician who served as the treasurer of Australia and deputy leader of the Liberal Party from 2018 to 2022. Simon Crean
Simon Findlay Crean (26 February 1949 – 25 June 2023) was an Australian politician and trade unionist. He was the leader of the Australian Labor Party (ALP) and leader of the opposition from 2001 to 2003. He represented the seat of Hotham in the House of Representatives from 1990 to 2013 and was a cabinet minister in the Hawke, Keating, Rudd and Gillard governments. Crean was born in Melbourne, the son of Frank Crean who was deputy prime minister under Gough Whitlam. He studied law and economics at Monash University and was involved in the trade union movement from a young age, becoming general secretary of the Storemen and Packers' Union in 1979. He was elected vice-president of the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) in 1981 and president in 1985. The Hawthorn Football Club, nicknamed the Hawks, is a professional Australian rules football club based in Mulgrave, Victoria, that competes in the Australian Football League (AFL).
