Moldova In The Eurovision Song Contest 2013
Moldova was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with the song "O mie" written by Iuliana Scutari and Pasha Parfeny. The song was performed by Aliona Moon. Songwriter Pavel Parfeni represented Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 with the song "Lăutar" where he placed eleventh in the grand final of the competition. The Moldovan broadcaster TeleRadio-Moldova (TRM) organised the national final ''O melodie pentru Europa 2013'' in order to select the Moldovan entry for the 2013 contest in Malmö, Sweden. 49 artists and 126 songs competed to represent Moldova in Malmö, with 24 artists and songs being shortlisted to participate in the televised national final. TeleRadio-Moldova
TeleRadio-Moldova (TRM) is the Moldovan state-owned national radio and television broadcaster. It owns two television channels and three radio stations. TRM was admitted as a full active member of the European Broadcasting Union on 1 January 1993, under its former name ''Radioteleviziunea Nationala din Moldova'' (RTNM). History The first radio transmission in Moldova was broadcast on November 1, 1928 by the Radiotelephonic Broadcasting Company in Bucharest. On 30 October 1930, in Tiraspol started broadcasting a Soviet radio station of 4 kW whose main purpose was the anti-Romanian propaganda to Moldova between Prut and Dniester. A new radio mast, M. Geta Burlacu
Geta Burlacu (; born Georgeta Povorozniuc on 22 July 1974) is a Moldovan singer. She represented Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with the song "A Century of Love", written by Vica Demici and Oleg Baraliuc. Career Burlacu began singing at the age of 7. She studied violin at the music school in Bălți and graduated from the College of Music in Balti as a violinist. In 1993 she went to the Academy of Music in Chișinău to study jazz and folk music. After graduation in 1997, Burlacu stepped on the professional scene. She has performed in Germany, France, Ireland, Romania, Ukraine, Belarus, and China. She has won numerous awards at national and international festivals in jazz, pop, and folk. From 1998 until 2011, Burlacu worked as a singer in the vocal jazz band Univox. Moldova was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song "So Lucky" written by Roman Iagupov, Mihai Gîncu, Andy Shuman and Marc Elsner. The song was performed by the band Zdob şi Zdub. Jonas Gladnikoff
Jonas Gladnikoff (born 11 January 1985) is a Swedish songwriter and music producer. Born in Täby, he began songwriting at an early age. Later in life he moved to Åland in Finland before eventually moving to Stockholm. He has written several songs for singers from across Europe, but is best known for writing entries for the Eurovision Song Contest, the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, and for various national pre-selections. He studied songwriting at the Music Production Academy Musikmakarna, graduating in 2006. Henrik Szabo
Henrik Szabo (born December 18, 1982, in Malmö, Sweden) is a Swedish leader of purpose driven organisations and a former songwriter. He is Secretary General of Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen since 2019 and member of the board of Kompis Sverige. Songwriting Henrik Szabo has written songs for artists in Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Portugal, Slovenia, Lithuania and Moldova and was part of the songwriting team LilyDock Studios. Christina Schilling is a Danish songwriter, singer and musician. She has written songs for artists in Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, Ireland, Spain, Slovenia, Latvia, Lithuania and South Africa, and is part of the songwriting team Pixieland Productions. John Ballard (record Producer)
John Ballard (born 14 April 1951) is a Scottish singer-songwriter and record producer, based in Gothenburg, Sweden, where he has a recording studio (Tuff Studios). At Tuff Studios he has produced amongst others, Ace of Base (their first three albums), as well as co-writing some of their songs.
