''GoldenEye: Rogue Agent'' is a first-person shooter video game in the James Bond franchise, developed by EA Los Angeles and published by Electronic Arts. The player takes the role of an ex-MI6 agent, who is recruited by Auric Goldfinger (a member of a powerful unnamed criminal organization based on Ian Fleming's SPECTRE) to assassinate his rival Dr. No. Several other characters from the Bond franchise make appearances throughout the game, including Pussy Galore, Oddjob, Xenia Onatopp and Francisco Scaramanga. Despite its name and being part of the ''James Bond'' franchise, this James Bond video game has no relation to the 1995 film or the 1997 video game of the same name, and is the first ''James Bond'' video game where the titular character does not appear in person. Danger Close Games (formerly DreamWorks Interactive LLC and EA Los Angeles) was an American video game developer based in Los Angeles. Francisco Scaramanga is a fictional character and one of the main antagonists in the James Bond novel and film version of '' The Man with the Golden Gun''. Scaramanga is an assassin who kills with his signature weapon, a pistol made of solid gold. In the novel, the character is nicknamed "Pistols" Scaramanga and is also called "Paco" (a Spanish diminutive of Francisco). Xenia Zaragevna Onatopp (russian: Ксения Сергеевна Онатопп, Kseniya Sergeevna Onatopp) is a fictional character and Bond girl in the James Bond film ''GoldenEye'', played by actress Famke Janssen. Oddjob (often written as "Odd Job") is a fictional character in the espionage novels and films featuring James Bond. He is a henchman to the villain Auric Goldfinger in the 1959 James Bond novel '' Goldfinger'' and its 1964 film adaptation, making a cameo appearance in the mid-credits scene of ''Inspector Gadget'' (1999). Pussy Galore is a fictional character in the 1959 Ian Fleming James Bond novel '' Goldfinger'' and the 1964 film of the same name. In the film, she is played by Honor Blackman. Dr. Julius No is a fictional character and the main antagonist in the 1958 ''James Bond'' novel and its 1962 film adaptation '' Dr. No'', the first of the series, in which he was portrayed by Joseph Wiseman. Ian Lancaster Fleming (28 May 1908 – 12 August 1964) was a British writer who is best known for his postwar '' James Bond'' series of spy novels. Fleming came from a wealthy family connected to the merchant bank Robert Fleming & Co., and his father was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Henley from 1910 until his death on the Western Front in 1917. Auric Goldfinger is a fictional character and the main antagonist in Ian Fleming's 1959 seventh ''James Bond'' novel, '' Goldfinger'', and the 1964 film it inspired (the third in the ''James Bond'' series). His first name, Auric, is an adjective meaning "of gold".
