Miss Illinois
The Miss Illinois is a pageant program affiliated with Miss America, which is competition for women models representing the state of Illinois. The first "Miss Illinois" sent to the national pageant was Lois Delander who subsequently won the Miss America title. Including Delander, five Miss Illinois representatives have won the Miss America title. Breana Bagley was crowned Miss Illinois 2024 on June 15, 2024, at the Marion Cultural Arts & Civic Center in Marion. She will represent Illinois and compete for the title of Miss America 2025. Miss USA
Miss USA is an American beauty pageant that has been held annually since 1952 to select the entrant from United States in the Miss Universe pageant. The Miss Universe Organization operated both pageants, as well as Miss Teen USA, until 2020. In 2020, the organization announced it was licensing operation of the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants to Crystle Stewart, who was the Miss USA winner in 2008. In October 2022, Stewart was suspended, and the rights to the pageants were returned to the Miss Universe Organization. The pageants are now operated by Laylah Rose. The pageant was owned by Donald Trump from 1996 to 2015 and was previously broadcast on NBC. In September 2015, WME/ IMG purchased the pageant from Trump. In 2020, for the first time, the FYI network broadcast the competition. In October 2022, JKN Global Group acquired the pageant from WME/ IMG. It is currently broadcast on The CW. Glen Ellyn, Illinois
Glen Ellyn is a village in DuPage County, Illinois, United States. A suburb located due west of downtown Chicago, the village has a population of 28,846 as of the 2020 Census. History Glen Ellyn, like the neighboring town to the east, Lombard, had its genesis in an 1833 claim by two brothers from the Finger Lakes region of New York, Morgan and Ralph Babcock. The two claimed property in a large stand of timber near present-day St. Charles Road and the East Branch of the DuPage River. The brothers also arranged for a claim for their New York neighbor Deacon Winslow Churchill, who arrived in 1834 along with some of his adult children and their families. The nascent settlement became known as Babcock's Grove, and it included property currently part of both Glen Ellyn and Lombard. It is one of the major regional newspaper and media services for southern Illinois. The Miss America 2022 competition was held on December 16, 2021. This was the 94th Miss America competition and was held at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, as the Miss America Organization celebrated its 100th anniversary. It was the first Miss America since Miss America 1954, 1954 that was not televised, but it was streamed on Peacock (streaming service), Peacock. There were several technical glitches within the stream throughout the show, causing many viewers to complain on social media about the production value. Miss America 2020, Camille Schrier of Virginia crowned her successor, Emma Broyles of Alaska, at the end of the event. Miss America 2023 was the 95th edition of the Miss America pageant, which occurred at the Mohegan Sun on December 15, 2022. Instead of airing on television, the pageant was streaming television, streamed for the second consecutive year.
