The novel hinges on the relationship between its two main characters – novelist Paul Sheldon and his self-proclaimed number one fan Annie Wilkes. When Sheldon is seriously injured following a car accident, former nurse Annie rescues him and keeps him prisoner in her isolated farmhouse. ''Misery'', which took fourth place in the 1987 bestseller list, was adapted into an Academy Award–winning film directed by Rob Reiner, in 1990, and into a theatrical production starring Laurie Metcalf and Bruce Willis in 2015. Levine told MTV News: "'Misery' is about the desperation of wanting someone really badly in your life but having it be very difficult. Kind of what all the songs I write are about. I'm not treading on new ground, but I think a lot of people – including myself – deal with that all the time. Relationships are difficult, and it's good therapy to write about them." Low Budget (album)
''Low Budget'' is the eighteenth studio album by the English rock band the Kinks, released in 1979. It was their first to feature bassist Jim Rodford who would remain with the group until their disbandment in 1996. Unlike the nostalgic themes of many of the Kinks' previous albums, several of ''Low Budgets songs allude to contemporaneous events. Musically, the album is a continuation of the band's "arena rock" phase, resulting in a more rock-based sound and more modern production techniques. Despite being a relative failure in the UK, ''Low Budget'' was a critical and commercial success in the United States, becoming the Kinks' best-selling studio album and peaking at number 11 on the ''Billboard'' Top LPs & Tape chart. The lead single, " (Wish I Could Fly Like) Superman", was a minor hit in the US, reaching number 41. Background After spendin ...

The band began working on new material in early 2005, however, drummer Chris Wilson soon left the band and was replaced by Dean Butterworth. The group took a break to focus on their personal lives before reconvening in early 2006, and eventually reconnecting with producer Don Gilmore. After writing a number of new songs there, the brothers felt they were heading in the right direction. Meeting up every two weeks, the band members showed off the songs they were working on; Gilmore was again dismissive, challenging them to write material that was different. Another batch of songs was written before recording began in July 2006 and concluded in September. Fea ...

And it's obvious recording in someone's basement to a multi million-dollar studio because you need the space and some of the technology to be able to pick up the various things and instruments." Song meanings "A lot of the songs are about relationships or about having a bad day, where nothing seems to go right, or where you just dwell on the negative. But the album as a whole i ...
