Mitsuharu Misawa
was a Japanese professional wrestler and promoter. He is primarily known for spending 18 years with All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) and subsequently leading the 2000 All Japan Pro Wrestling mass exodus, which culminated in him forming Pro Wrestling Noah. In the early 1990s, Misawa gained fame alongside friend and tag team partner Kenta Kobashi, as well as rivals Toshiaki Kawada and Akira Taue, who came to be nicknamed AJPW's . Their matches developed the '' ōdō'' (, "King's Road") style of puroresu, and received significant critical acclaim. Koichi Misawa
is a Japanese baseball pitcher who won a silver medal in the 1996 Summer Olympics. He also played for the Yomiuri Giants, Osaka Kintetsu Buffaloes, and the Tokyo Yakult Swallows in Nippon Professional Baseball from 1997 to 2005. In 2008, he came to the United States to play in the independent Northern League with the Gary SouthShore RailCats. He posted a 1.69 earned run average in 42.2 innings pitched. Gary manager Greg Tagert later told the ''Chicago Tribune'' that Misawa "was the absolute best I’ve ever seen coming out the bullpen at our level." Teruo Misawa
Teruo Misawa (born 11 December 1978) is a Japanese former professional boxer who competed from 1998 to 2008. He held the Japanese mini-flyweight title from 2006 to 2007 and challenged for the WBC interim mini-flyweight title in 2008. Professional career Misawa made his debut in 1998 with a win over Yuji Kogure. In his nineteenth bout, Satoshi Kogumazaka narrowly defeated Misawa by a close unanimous decision (UD) to retain his Japanese mini-flyweight title in March 2005. After an August 2006 rematch for the now vacant title ended in a split draw (SD), Misawa finally defeated Kogumazaka to win the title by UD in December 2006.
